The London Millennium Footbridge is a pedestrian-only steel suspension bridge crossing the River Thames in London, linking Bankside with the City. It is located between Southwark Bridge and Blackfriars Bridge. With construction beginning in 1998, it was the first new bridge across the Thames in London since Tower Bridge in 1894 and it is owned and maintained by Bridge House Estates, a charitable trust overseen by the City of London Corporation.

Londoners nicknamed the bridge the Wobbly Bridge after crowds of pedestrians felt an unexpected swaying motion on the first two days after the bridge opened. The bridge was closed and modified, and further modifications eliminated the "wobble" entirely.

The southern end of the bridge is near Globe Theatre, the Bankside Gallery and Tate Modern, the north end you can see the City of London School and St Paul's Cathedral which is at the end of this bridge, the bridge alignment is such that a clear view of St Paul's south facade is presented from across the river, framed by the bridge supports, thus providing a scenic view of the cathedral.

This shot believe it or not, has minimal or no pp, the only thing that I did was to use the clarify option once on this night shot, in order to show those clouds.

The clouds were left with this efffect because it was quite a windy night and this coupled with my slow shutter gave me this result, the lighting is just the London monochrome street lights, as you all know London has so much light polution that if you leave your shutter open long enough on a cloudy night (I opened the shutter for 30 seconds) the clouds will start lighting up just like in my shot

In response to my fellow TE members request, I am posting the original shot HERE of St. Pauls Cathedral in London, as I mentioned on my original posting I simply clarified this shot in order to bring out the hidden reflections, thank you all for your support and sorry for the delay, is just that I`ve been really busy at work, there is just not enough hours in the day to enjoy this wonderful hobbie, thank you all again.

Excellent composition in that the bridge leads into the dome. Software effect work very nicely.

Hi Joao,

Wild scene. I like the DOF and excellent sharpness&clarity. The clouds at slow shutter speed are surreal.

Very very interesting work,a great idea to show this place, thanks for share,Luciano

Hello Joao,
An excellent idea which has created an image that is different and eye-catching. Obviously a lot of post-processing went with this....it would be a good idea to let us understand how you achieved it. A great POV and good clarity under the circumstances. Well done.
Cheers Grant

Hi Joao Paulo,
This is fantastic, a stunningly surreal view of the Millennium Bridge. Looks like the technicolor version of your Tate Modern shots. Great symmetry and view of St Paul's, but it's really the clouds that make it with the long exposure effect enhanced by the Clarify tool. I also like the moiré effect in the decking.
Your B/W shots are great but I also hope to see more of this type of colour work.
Cheers!
John

Filipe

Hi Joao, don't quite know what to say, quite stunning and quite beautiful, I thought there was a lot of PP here, then I read your note. Gosh, is it that bad in London...
I love most the lower part, it's like pure gold there, the texture is just amazing and so sharp. The composition is also very much to my taste with that great perspective from this Wobbly Bridge. Well done, and I would be also interested in the original.
In which software do you find this clarify tool ?

TFS
Best regards

Cumprimentos, Daniel

Just wonderful!

Ola Joan,
It is amazing photo. It is difficult to believe you did only a bit processing. I like the colours and perfect sharpness. Regards

Malgorzata

Wow - what a shot. While the post processing is very strong and evident here, I really like it and the unique feel you've created through the photo. Great composition too.

Dave.

Bonjour Joao

Gildas

A superb point of view of the Millenium Bridge, with St Paul cathedral at the end. The golden color of the bridge is beautifull (I believe that the polished metal of the bridge can catch fairly well any kind of light). However, the red sky in much more unusual and more reminiscent of the "Blitz" period in 1940 than of the modern London.
Thanks for sharing,

Emmanuel

Hello Joao,
Regards.
Daniel.

Ciao Joao Paulo.
Eccezionale, prospettiva mozzafiato.
