Photographer’s Note

Quirang walk at the Isle of Skye was for me like a trip to another world. Enormous space, moving clouds and mist, sea of green - feeling connected with Earth in my heart like never before.

To the ancient Celts, Skye was known as An t’Eilan Sgitheanach - the Winged Isle. To the Vikings the Island was Skuyo – the Cloud Island and to the Gaelic poets she was Eilean a’ Cheo – the Island of the Mist. Maybe you'll have your own ideas. (Walkaboutscotland.com)

A great landscape and I see you've been hiking to a place delivering a superb comprehensive and far ranging view, your timing is great here having the sun ray illuminating just the area where the sheep is standing, which is also close to one of the strong points, the most eye catching in a photo frame.

Hi Romana,

I was just going through your gallery and this is a beautiful shot! The different shades of light on the rolling hillside are just wonderful. The clouds just brought out the best of this landscape and it enhances that feel of how the location was once inhabited by Celts and Vikings. Magical.
