[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This photo was taken in The Tate Modern Staff canteen while I was taking a brake,
This gentleman was part of a crew who was assembling a mini frost fair which will be in between the Tate Modern entrance and the Thames River; the fair will be open to the public on 21, 22 and 23rd of December 2007.

This shot was taken in the late evening; I came for my brake and saw this gentleman
Sprawled on the sofa nursing his tiredness, I saw a good perspective between him and all those used Tate cups on the table which were perfect for my ongoing Tate theme.

If you want to catch up with my Tate Gallery series then please click HERE many thanks to all TE for your support and merry Christmas to all.

Hard working crew deserve a nice rest. It looks as if he's a painter for this project, and had drank multiple cups of Tate coffee during his breaks. Love your angle of approach here, and the great BW tonalities. Nice work.

Regards,
Brian

Beautiful B&W. Your angle and composition are excellent too. I'm glad to see him catch a few z's. The word Tate on all the coffee cups is interesting and makes for a nice clue as to the place the photo was taken. I like little clues like that, which give a photo some sense of place.

Ryan

Le noir et blanc parait simple à réussir lorsque l'on voit une photo pareille. Je pense que c'est malheureusement une illusion et que c'est surtout très difficile d'assurer une belle palette de noir, de blan et de gris... Bravo.

Wow!!
Great shot!!!
Real great!!!!
Well composition and very fantastic idea!
Wonderful picture!!!!
Regards!
Yuri

Aí eu diria: A touching capture, my friend!
I liked the B&W composition. Well done!
Um abraço,TFS,

Hi Joao - great combination of elements here to tell this story, from the obviously fatigued worker, the scattered empty cups, and the comfy couch. Even that distinct trash can logo is a fitting touch, emphasizing just how tired he is, to not even have the energy to make the short trip to the garbage.

Belle photo de cet homme qui dort du someil du juste, beau NB, bonne netteté,très jolis détails sur ces vetements, souliers, les poubelles etc...
Très belle galerie.
Amitiés Thomas

Excellent work Joao Paulo. It fits perfectly with your theme. Strong diagonal feel created by the sleeping guy - extending through the paper cups. And thanks to the logo there is no mistaking where it was taken. Well done. Best regards, Roberto

Linda foto, expressiva e natural. O P&B enriqueceu sensivelmente a apresentação. Parabéns e abraço
Celma

Hello Joao. Which for a successful snapshot. Very beautifully. The photo pleases me very well. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hi Joao,
very natural, like the low pov that puts us at his level, makes me feel like covering him up, good composition with those cups and Tate label, the dustbin, how tired he must be, love the traces of work on this clothes, very nice b/w, well done.

TFS
and Merry Christmas to you too!

Hello Joao Paulo,
nice reportage shot of the daily life of the London city.I like that you have choosed the B/W format for this. The image of this sprawled and tired man, is i think, the same in every country that we can see the same scene.Informative your note too.

Hi Joao

Watching your photos for first time I thought what interesting pov! I agree the choice of b/n for the carefull perspective.
I like your way to look the world
I like this shot because you take two human emotions: to be tired and loneliness

Bye
Patrizia

I have already stopped on that one, thinking it was a picture of a homeless (the kind of topics that I do not like, since I feel sympathy for these people and do not think it is right to abuse of their dignity by taking picture of them), but it is not the case after reading the note. However, seing how tired this worker looks makes me think about the toughness of the current English working conditions, with seems to have radically changed between the pre-Thatchering period and nowadays, where the working environment seems much less protective to the people.

All the best,

Emmanuel

Hi Joao,
Belle image de cet homme endormi surement aprés une dure journée de travail a en voir ces vêtements
bon cadrage et présentation
Merry christmas for you too

Excellent shot and very funny too. I like the contrast between the dirty clothes of that man and the expensive looking leather sofa he's sitting on.
