I hope you are all having an enjoyable weekend!
The weather is cold, damp and grey, not suitable for taking photographs so I am posting a shot that I took on holiday in October.
A few weeks ago, I posted the traditional, front view of Lindisfarne Castle. This is an alternative view, taken from the rear, still magnificent! I rather like this view as it gives the castle that austere, dominant, craggy, almost wild appearance that just doesn't work from the front! You can also see how strategically well it was placed to repel invaders.
If you would like to know more about the castle, please refer to my previous notes.
pp cropped, rotated 1 degree, adj brightness, sharpened, added borders and signed
(Somehow, I have lost the technical info whilst saving the shot; my apologies.)
Thank you for your visit.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the shot. :-)

Very good presentation of this interesting castle. I like low POV and natural colors. Composition is fine and frame works well.

Excellent composition and POV in this shot. The off center placement of the castle is very appropriate giving the shot nice direction. The lighting and colors are fine with excellent sharpness and detail. I think a little more contrast and color saturation would help make this photo jump off the page.

nice place and interesting composition, good light, but it is a bit dull, IMO of course, maybe a bit more brightness and contrast (about 10% both) could help...
PS : finaly i did a WS and the difference is not important... nevermind

Hi Bev. I appreciate the chance to see this shot, as although I did visit Lindisfarne long ago I didn't take any shots and don't remember going around to the back yard. Nice exposure with nicely lit foreground area giving the highlights. Good sharp capture of the castle, well composed and providing a pleasing contrast to the brighter grassy area in front. Contrast could be cranked up a tad and a little accentuation of shadows, but that's all.

Not the usual view of this castle, which makes it all the more interesting. A nice and sharp image with good natural colour.
