Photographer’s Note
Taken last week in the New Forest. I have been to this location countless times and usually always walked away empty handed. I always find it so challenging. Yet, looking at this I simply forget why I struggle.

Hello Adam
An idyllic scene with beautiful natural colours and good balance of light and shade. The winding stream gives a nice sense of depth to the picture.
Best wishes Maggie

this is how I've always imagined Avalon (also from the "Chonicles of Amber") could look like. fantastic colours and clarity, and I love the gentle curving of the streem, it nicely leads the eye into the shot. great photo.

Hello, Adam,
I love the long rays of warm light in this shot. The way it lights the leaves and lies along the grass. It's wonderful how the waterway curves through and the twisted branches reach across. Beautiful lighting, beautiful soft color... Man, this is just an awesome shot. Kind regards,
Shelly

Great image, love the gnarly (oak?) trees and their reflections in the small stream. As I always fail as soon as the sun shines into forests, I'm really interested how you've managed the huge contrasts for this shot. Double exposure? Fill-Light slider in Lightroom?

Nothing but admirable Adam! So well ballanced, all shade parts perfectly visible, all lights correctly exposed, truly good work. I can see 24-70 L lens... you don't use this one very often, do you? Do you find it better (different) than 17-40?
Ok, glad you didn't walk away empty handed this time!

Hello Adam,
Bravo !

Beautifully captured with the creek acting as a leading line through the shot. Excellent exposure and control of the light. Well done Adam.

The super clarity here is really something. It makes the shot. I know what you mean about how it's challenging to shoot locations like this. Scenes of the inside of forests always seem to have light problems, or color problems. This shot though, has great light, which, in turn creates those beautiful yellows.
