Photographer’s Note

A very special morning in a very special place.

-= Rannoch Moor, Scottish Highlands =-

I left my flat about 5am - just to be at the spot well before the sunrise (hopefully it's not summer time, so there's no need to wake up around 3am :D)

According to the weather forecast the whole southern highlands (down from Crianlarich) were supposed to be covered with very thick and low-level clouds, whereas the northern part should stay clear.

In fact it was completely opposite :D

On my way to this place the weather seemed to be great in the south part (clear sky with a lot of shining stars). When I reached Crianlarich it changed completely. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the huge misty cloud appeared, limiting visibility to 10 meters or so.

I didn't lose my faith - as 3 years I spent in this country have taught me how changable the weather can be.

I reached my spot - which was completely covered in a massive mist. I set up my camera and waited. About 30 minutes later the mist started to disappear, when first rays of Sun came over the horizon.

This is one of the very first photos I took that day.

When it comes to the technical side :

30mm, 1/20sec, f/11, ISO 100
0.3 GND SE, Tripod + my Wellies :)

Hope you'll like it.

Piotr
