Young stag testing his manhood in Richmond park, not too far away was a mature stag with its harem of young deer, that he was not about to share with this younger fellow, needless to say the older heavier antlered won out ,sending this one to another area of the park.

Beautiful shot indeed. I like the colors in this picture, very vivid. Good focus and took the right moment while he is screaming (maybe). Very nice. Just curious, what focal leght do you use in this picture? Sothy

Hi,
Good shot Ron and more difficult than it looks I would think, since even slight movement of these beasts can spoil the fine detail of their hides. You got him at a good distance though, nicely coloured. Thanks.
Dougie.

Hi,
Nice picture of this animal with beautiful colors and a precise sharpness.
Alain
I must have just missed you as lately I've taken to cyclng to Richmond park with my camera gear, I was there 2 days earlier and 4 days later. I did get a complete copulation sequence but now I don't know where I can post them without causing offence! I see no problem with any S/H work on this although maybe the red saturation is a tad overdone. I've found that with large moving animals which will often be fairly centrally placed that spot metering works well. After all the main subject is the most important part of the image. I like the contrast and sharpness here both of which help the stag to "leap" from the background. All I'd suggest here is a tighter crop on the right and a tad off the left.
Very beautiful picture...
great composition... well done image
Very nice shot.very good work.
