Photographer’s Note
The pull back and attack is one of the actions that turns the singing of a song into a performance - here the lead singer of the Satin Dolls gives 110%.
I love the opportunity to get a side stage spot like this - getting the oportunity for movement around the stage is even better ....but rare if you're not a film cameraman.
Hear the music!!

Wow, great. Hair flying. Spotlight cutting through the smoke-machine smoke. The muscular arm of a young rocker. Heat, decibles and kinesis . . . that's it. The thrill of performance. The flash of fame. -Hugh

Very good shot, a lot of energy, hope I will have the opportunity to shoot as well as this on the Police show in Stade de France, at the end of Sept... even if Sting, Summers and Coppeland are not the youngests anymore! Hope they'll give as much energy as you captured here.
Congratulations
Thomas
PS: Let's not talk to quickly because the last concerts of Iggy Pop in Zenith (Paris) and Patti Smith (Olympia) were pretty good examples of what oldies can make when they still have the FIRE!!

Nice stop/motion: though the light is sparse, the colors are intact as well as the detail.
well done

Hi Kev,
One of the most energetic band shots I've seen here. Motion shows well on blur without compromising clarity. Her hair is everywhere. Surprisingly calm colour sceme with no colour lights.

Hi Kev,
Captured completely the lead singer's expression with the motion blur of microphone.
Motion, colours, light and composition all are perfect!
Superb!
Best wishes,

A live concert picture different from the standard ones. Here the power of the live exibition comes out from the frame. Perfect !

I miss your deep blacks on this one. Isolating her golden presence into a sea of black would have been my treat here. Her expression is priceless. She is so into it. The way you laid her in your frame is also perfect, with that long arm reaching for the mic. Very good.

Hi Kevin,
I say wow but also, you are lucky to get this near of the action. But that's your job. Isn't it?
Best wishes

Great shot, Kev.
I love the focus on her arm, her hair flowing, her face glowing with her inward passion, the guitarist in the back.

Yes, This photo has the quality to make me imagine the music, and beside portrait quite well the intensity of the moment. I also like the light. Very good Kev.

PS: Leaving bound north of Spain for almost two weeks, take care all of you.

Great capture! The blurred microphone looks like camera jiggle until you realize that the rest of the images are still. It's a little soft, but that the face is sharp, so it works, and the hint of the other musician in the background completes the effect. You can feel the energy!
But we need the technical side - f-stop, shutter speed!
Update: Thanks for the data! Interesting that 1/125 could freeze the face and hair but not the hand.

Hi Kev.
A very very nice one.
The concerts....very difficult but very interesting....
Your shot is perfect....the motion of the hand, the micro, the hairs....and this little part of face in sharp...génius.
Moreover, I like her attitude !!!!
Full life, full ambiance.
Bravo

Hello Kev,
Looks like an easy picture but actually I guess it is not at all so.The expression of the singer the slight blur and the usjarp back gives a great atmosphere also enhanced by a golden light. Well caught - We almost hear the music !
I wish you a great week-emd - Izzet
