Taxi on Tower Bridge Photo

Photographer’s Note

I wanted to experiment a bit with moving objects on photos. This taxi on the London Tower Brigde, which I made last year, came out quite well, but I still need to practice a bit with this kind of photos. I regret the fact that you don't see the front of the car so very well; the framing is a bit too narrow. But I like the fact that the driver is wearing a hat.

About the photo: slightly cropped by the top and left side. I tried to sharpen the taxi (especially the letters in the middle) as good as possible, withouth getting too much noice. I also boosted up the saturation a bit.

Hej Stefan,
Zo'n experiment wil ik ook altijd nog een keer doen, het geeft altijd een spectaculair effect! Ik vind deze ook goed gelukt, ook al staat de voorkant van de auto er niet op. Echt geweldig wat die man aanheeft, die regenjas en hoed, net alsof hij zo uit een ouwe film komt gereden. ;-)

Très bonne idée de mettre en relief ce taxi londonien, si le véhicule respecte les traditions, la publicité prend une place importante comme dans toutes les mégapoles du monde.

Hoi Stefan,

De traditionele bolhoed dit hoort erbij, de Engelse flegmatiek zou anders ontbreken.
Ik kan niet zien welke F/ waarde u heeft gebruikt voor deze foto, maar ik meen dat ieder experiment moet zijn waarde krijgen.
In feite is het best sport systeem te gebruiken indien aanwezig, dan was alles scherp, maar ook op deze manier kan ik genieten van dit mooi foto werk.

Een heerlijke snelle foto. Uitstekend gelukt. Vooral die aparte figuur aan het stuur zet mij aan het fantaseren. Hier zit een boeiend verhaal in.

Welcome back Stef.
Panning is very difficult to do and this is a very creditable first attempt. OK, so it's a bit tight but the background is blurred well from your panning.

Hoi Stef, dit is een sfeervol panning shot, ik kom net bij Pierre 'maphoto' vandaan die heeft er ook een gepost. Door de geringe afstand, de reclame op de taxi en de heerlijk geblurde achtergrond is deze hele stedelijk. Zeer geslaagd werk Stef, gefeliciteerd.

Hi Stef, this is an excellent result, good panning shot also ! Compare to mine we can feel a different atmosphere, the more "city" background makes the driver appear a bit more stressed and in a hurry....great to compare, well executed !
