Photographer’s Note
Taken on a walk back from a fly fishing trip in a high tarn of the Lake District. I'm viewing this on my laptop instead of my usual CRT screen so I hope it's okay.

You captured the last of the light really well here Vic, and I like how the lines of the track and the stone walls leads the eye towards the sunlit area.
It might have worked well with slightly tighter framing to get rid of the trees at the bottom of the frame and some of the space on the right, but overall I think it's very good.
Cheers,
Ben

Very pleasant composition and lovely colours on the ground. If I am to pick at something, that'd be the sky - wish Is aw more of the sunset colours in it (maybe a nd would have helped - just throwing an opinion, not sure. Personally, I would have tried my circ pola :) ).

Vic, c'est très beau ce paysage de montagne dont un sommet vient de recevoir le dernier rayon de soleil. Les verts sont magnifiques et ils me font penser à un titre de film "Qu'elle était verte ma vallée !"

Hi vic,
I think it's ok. The valley es really beautiful. The green colors pleasant and the sun's light like a flame is very good! It's really beautiful the strong contrast. It works very well! Great shot! Thanks.

Angel.

Hi Vic,
The sun falling on the hillside is great .. the way the old buildings and fences are left in a darker tone really strikes me .. I think I wish the sky were a bit darker.. very nice image.
take care,
John

Ah fly fishing, one of the best places high in the mountain tarns. Did alot in Wales like that and always thought how much people missed by putting their heads down and backsides up so they could get up to the top quickest and straight back down. Wonderf why they do it really. So some one else that appreciates the finer points of life. Might be small fish but hell they fight.
What is pleasing about this photo is the light on the hillside. There is a mystic feel to the image though another shot with a graduated grey filter may have darkened the sky a bit and there again may have deminished the mystic feel. Nice one

Hi Vic. First, I know what you mean by having to rely on your laptop; I find TE shots always look better on the big screen.
The colour in this shot is amazing - the subdued light of the afternoon sun on the left and on the hill tops in the distance is great. Compositionally it's good, with the tree and the valley crease over on the right, and the angles of those stone walls. Pity about the sky, but I doubt you could do anything better with that camera in 2004. Anyway, there is a hint of colour in it. Fins shot of this civilised but nonetheless wild, lonely looking place.
Regards,
Andrew

This shot to me is all about light .. from the last rays of sunlight on the side of the ridge to the darker dusk light in the valley .. well seen old un

Hola Vic,
Fantástico contraste de colores. Pillaste un buen momento en el que el sol inundaba con sus últimos rayos una parte de la ladera. Magnífica perspectiva y gran POV.
Saludos cordiales

Hi Vic. The sunset colours are beautiful, the warm hues contrasting dramatically against the rich green. What I find moving is the little house- such houses dot Europe as they stand abandoned- a legacy of modern times and the pull of the cities. It makes me think of the hardship and the labour involved to survive in such a place.Dalmatia is full of such walls aa people stacked stones as wind breaks and in order to clear some arable land in a rock strewn land. Regards. Klaudio.
