This is one of my very first pictures with my dslr, And i have won a few competions with this picture i think this is one of my best to date, I took this on a small tripod in the middle of a small stream with a 50 mm prime lens, No macro lens invloved, the trees where overhanging and giving the top of the shot extras as flames , when i got this image home i saturated up the orange to make it look as if the water was on fire and it worked, i took a bit of a crop to level the picture up and a smart sharpen at around 0.5 and then added a nice white boarder, and this is the finished piece i love it, please give me your comment son this piece of work thank yo uso much so far for the nice comments andrew!

It's like Artwork Andrew. I first saw it and thought of some Blacksmith's shop. I like the title. I like how you manipulated the color of the overhanging tree reflections. Maybe you can use a workshop and post the original; I would love to see it. I don't think you needed such a large white border, especially now-a-days when everything is digital so a matte that big on the computer takes away from the shot. Keep painting Andrew, it works!!!!!

First impression I got when I saw it was liquid metal. Its a quality shot with great softness and sharpness. Not easy to achieve.

Very impressive shot an pp work, but I don't think the white frame goes well with it. Black or very dark green might be more striking.

Hi Andrew! It is easy to believe that you won some competions with this photo. It is suberb! We see on this site lot of photos with long exposure on water, but yours as something very special. Probably because the red-orange flames reflection. The water looks crytalized on its surface and the blue line on the border gives a strong effect.

To me, this shot is perfect! At first glance it appears to be almost a mix of fire and water. At closer inspect you catch a glimpse of some really good photography. I used a tight aperture to get that silky smooth water which is oh so pleasing with the lighting that is there. Great work!!

It's rather amazing what a bit of time can do to a motiv, it gives the image an indoor expression ( like it was taken in a smelting plant or a smithy)
Very good anyhow, like the light blue tones in the water as contrast to the warmness in the rest of the picture.
