[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This house was built in the Art-Nouveau style by Merton Russell-Cotes, the owner of the Bath Hotel as birthday present for his wife Annie over the course of ten years, from 1897 to 1907.
In 1908, Annie donated it to the people of Bournemouth together with its contents for use as a museum.
It houses an eclectic collection of items acquired over the course of Sir Merton's foreign travels, especially to Japan, and paintings from his personal art collection.
From these windows, you have a wonderful view of the beach and the ocean.

Tech: no PP work or cropping (just resizing) -- this amazing house was shot just as I saw it, from the gardens at its feet.

Thanks for looking and for your critiques and suggestions

Hello Silke. Who goes with open eyes through the world, constantly new discovers. This impressive building has its own history, and it is beautiful to experience over it something. Also technically this motive is well realized. Best regards, Wolfgang.

It's an interesting looking building Silke, and I think you've photographed it well. There's an interesting contrast between the symmetry at the top of the frame and the disharmony at the bottom.
You took it in good light, but I think you could have given the shot more impact by opening the exposure up a bit more - it seems ever so slightly under-exposed to me. Nothing you couldn't have sorted out with a quick levels or curves adjustment in PP.
I like it though, good work.

Cheers,
Ben

Hi Silke,
unusual house, interesting architecture, good informations in note. I like it.

Hi Silke,
All the round forms make this mansion special. And the upwards angle emphasizes them. Still I think a POV a bit further away would work better, if that was possible. Now parts of the staircase didn't fit the frame.
Maybe an upwards angle works best on high rise buildings.
Kari

Hi Silke,

The subdued tone goes well with this beautiful building .. the point of view is great .. but I'd give my soul for a couple more mm. on the edges ... wonderful image.

take care,

John

Hi Silkee. A most interesting building you show us here. Very good clarity and colours backed perfectly with the blue skies. Good presentation. Murray.
