Photographer’s Note
A red squirrel tucking into hazlenuts. This shot was taken at Whinfell Forest near Penrith. This is a conservation area for red squirrels, hence the provision of food. The numbers are closely monitored as the species is at risk due to the inroduction of the grey squirrel.
The shot is not great quality as it was taken with the digital zoom without a tripod.
