Legananny Dolmen, Co Down.

This ancient burial site is located on the southern fringe of the Slieve Croob mountain range. The structure consists of two portal stones to the south, one 5ft 9ins high, the other 6ft and a further single support at the north end, 4ft high. The long capstone, almost 2ft in diameter gives the structure its distinctive tripod appearance.

Wow... good composition! interesting object, although the wire fence is quite distracting. However, well done!

Hi Stephen
Good POV, clarity and exposure settings. Looking at the photo gives the impression of a serene, deserted place.

Cheers / Steven

Hi Stephen.

It's an excellent sky! Great contrast with the rest of the picture!

Well done!

Rgs, Oscar

I wonder how in ancient times people were able to move and lift rocks to create this burial monument. A nice picture of this place. It has good details, clarity and colours. A well composed image with good framing. Thanks Stephen.

Roberto

Hi Stephen,

Nicely composed and exposed shot of what is an interesting tomb. Placing the tomb to the right of the shot works perfectly in balancing the image.

Best regards,
Paul.

Beautiful shot of this amazing structure, even with the fence around it. I guess the fence is necessary to prevent it from being damaged, but I can't help imaging how incredible this would look with open fields or hillside around it. You chose a good angle to show this, minimizing the effect of the fence and getting the dolmen against the sky. Excellent!

Hello Stephen,

The scenery here is great, and your photo really captures this with great detail. The only negative thing about this image is the fence in the background. (I know that one can't ask the land owner to remove a fence for one photo.... It's just that I see so many beutifull places ruined by fences and telephone lines...) The stone fence is a great detail in this photo though, and gives the photo something extra. TFS.

Friendly,
- Halgeir
