Photographer’s Note
We were travelling to Isle of Skye and took the Ferry from Mallaig. Scotland has an absolutely first rate Ferry system. Although Mallaig itself is quite a small and storied town, the road leading to it is a modern and spacious highway.
Unfortunately our time there was limited to waiting for the Ferry, but it was scenic and charming in and of itself.

Excellent picture, with good colours and a nice POV. I think the tight crop helped in eliminating possible distracting elements outside the frame such as other boats, or part of, and more people. The combination of colours is very nice and the human activity gives life to the scene. Well done.

HI Donald,
Very well captured life-shot- I can smell some fishy.... The expo is correct and the composition is interesting. You didn't highlight neither the workers nor the boats. It makes it so real.
Have a nice week!

I hope those boats in the picture aren't the ferries! Scotland is such a beautiful place, and yet I've never had a chance to visit it yet. I like the repeated shape of the boats in this, as well as the repeated blue colour. The man on board add that little human touch and completes the scene. Well done!

I like the tight framing here Donald, and although the scene is busy that isn't as a bad thing as everything fits together well with nothing in the image seeming out of place.
The presence of the fisherman is important to the success of the image, and it's a small detail but persoanlly I would have preferred it if he was facing into frame rather than out.
This is a good shot though, well done.
Cheers,
Ben

Hi Don, great detail and colour on these fishing boats, you've even captured the net wings on the one boat. The pair of guys working on this boat give it a nice perspective. We can see this is not just a colourful boat in the harbour but it is a working boat.
Thanks, John

Hi Donald,
Colourful daily life scene with lots of details. Signs of use on those boats look interesting.

Hi Don,
Well composed with superb clarity of detail. Although there is much for the eye to absorb, there is a balance here and a tight cropping job that keeps the scene from having a cluttered look. The fellow standing provides dynamism and warmth and is nicely off centre, while the gentle waves create an anticipation of departure on the tide. Well done, Don...later.

Hi Donald
Good capture of daily life. The boats are sure bright. Great color and very sharp. It would have been great if the man was facing you. Anyhow well done.

Hi Donald, I've spent many a happy hour in Mallaig, as you say, it's a charming place. I like your composition with the stern of the two vessels in view and the man working away gives it scale and added interest. Great colours and sharpness. It's a fine capture my friend, well done.
Regards
Stephen
