Following on from my most photographed tree shot in Scotland, this has to be the most photographed mountain! And once again I make no apology for photographing it again.
Taken on the same evening as the tree shot, about 45 minutes earlier just as the clouds started to break. I was so pleased to see some snow on the mountain (Buachaille Etive Mor) for the first time.

Great shot. Wonderful colour balance and excellent tonality. The slow shutter speed adds nice effect in it.

You're right that there is no need to apologize when the results are so beautiful! This one is pure magic, the colour and clarity give this the feel of almost being there. A nice touch is the warm light on the left side and the blue light on the right side - very unique. Superb image!

This is how you can make Scotland even more beautiful as it already is. Nice, typical Adam-Shot! :-)

Oh yes.. please don't apologize for taking this image. It is just breath taking. I love that you shot is down lower with the water and the moss covered rocks in the foreground leading to the mountain. The colors are absolutly beautiful, I love the way the colors in the sky are repeated in the water exactly how they are in the sky...
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful image.

More nice work here, although i don't know that you needed as dramatic of a split filter as you used, the foreground seems like maybe it could be a little bit overexposed, but that could just be my taste.

Excellent shot with amazing colours, reflections, details and a beautiful cloud colour. The snow on the mountain adds a nice detail! Great composition and so beautifully captured! Excellent work, Adam!
PS: If you happen to come Canada again, can I hire you as my teacher in photography for a couple of days?
robiuk (10807) 2007-02-13 18:32
Wow, wow & wow again!
The amount of well lit details both in the FG and half-way down is amazing.
How do you get these details out?
PS. Btw, congratulations on winning the Grand Prize - just learnt about that on the Web. When are you setting off to Antarctica?
TravelerNL (3011) 2007-02-13 18:44
Good shot where the snow on the mountains really adds contrast and depth to the photo. I like the compo where the stones in the river seem to get larger further down the stream and leading the view to the mountain. Well seen and composed.

Beautiful shot Adam, I agree that the snow on the mountain is quite a pleasing touch. I've seen lots of shots of this mountain, but perhaps none so colorful as this one. Thanks for sharing.

Impressionnante prise de vue !
La profondeur de chamo est maximale ici et le filé de l'eau apporte une superbe dynamique à l'image qui contraste bien avec l'immobilité du la montagne en arrière plan !

What to say. I could only repeat myself and lot of other members when make a comment on your photo. Beautiful, fine composition, excellent light and great execution.
In one word superb.
kristofk (791) 2007-02-14 2:48
definitely a superb photo - a magical moment caught in the most majestically possible way. Really an extraordinary work. An example, one might say.
Best regards Kristof
dmarizz (2796) 2007-02-14 3:02
the colours are so stunning to seem fake. Another pearl from your landscapes gallery. Congratulations, Dario
PS I see that also with f/22 your picture is perfectly sharp, and does not exhibit any diffraction effect. Is it due to the 17-40 L lens? With my 17-85 with an f-stop higher that 13 the quality is visibly degraded.
sebcz (2345) 2007-02-14 7:17
Yes, the high level is maintained here. Light's amazing, long exposure perfect.

This mountain still eludes me for a good shot, this is a peach, will have a good trawl through some of your newies later.
banyanman (7789) 2007-03-31 14:08
A fabulous low-light composition, Adam, with superb DOF. The play between light and shadow, and the unusual textures and colours make this more a work of art than a landscape photograph. Great work. Cheers . . . David
chrizoneill (424) 2007-04-29 14:20
Absolutely brilliant shot, the balance of light from the foreground to the back is excellent accenting and highlight all the right spots to create a great mood and atmosphere!!! Excellent work

Hi Adam, masterpiece! This is really a successful shot! Fantastic low point of view gives great details to the foreground and makes the perspective very dynamic. Very good lighting and beautiful weather situation! All being well I shall be touring Scotland in a few weeks, If I get even one shot that comes close to this Il be very happy. Regards Steve.
