Photographer’s Note

Picture of Clough Head summit taken on a recent fellwalk. The fell is very prominent from the A66 road towards Keswick and affords excellent views to Blencathra. Conditions for Lake District is January were excellent, no breeze and some winter sunshine.

Lovely shot with good detail on the trig. point and the cairn of boulders.
You have managed the light very well, it is cold and bright, what a great place to be.
The views in the distance are clear and sharp.

It looks like you enjoyed superb conditions Steve. Bright sunlight and crisp snow; I'm jealous!
Your composition is good, with the off-centre placement of the trig point, although I would perhaps have stepped round to the right a bit so that the snow-covered mountains in the background were more visible, rather than the green fields over to the right.
It's a good shot though, and you took it in great light.

Steve, what a cracking, pin-sharp and beautifully composed photo of one of the finest views in the Lakes. I've never been to Clough Head (though I've walked almost all the fells at least once) so this photo has convinced me to go there next time I escape Essex!! Paul.

The snow was all gone when I went last week. I's have loved some crisp shots like this. The fine detail is excellent and enhances the coldness of the scene. Good clear weather too.
