Photographer’s Note
Here we have the second in a short series of photos from a trip to the beach on Saturday morning. I remember taking this shot well as it was one of those 'wet feet' moments which I'm sure many of you are familiar with. I'd taken some shots of rock pools and wanted to capture some shots with waves swirling round the rocks. The penalty for wanting to catch the waves is having to be right there as they come in, ah well it's all part of the fun.
I know some of you might be thinking I could have stood further back and zoomed in. The problem there would be the loss of the wide perspective and not achieving the feeling of open space.

Hi Paul.
I like these open and minimalistic shots. I like the earthy colors and you managed to capture the water well. I noticed something that looks like dust in the top of the shot, just right of center. Another thing that might improve the shot is removing noise in the sky. You can use something like neatimages software on a copied layer then add a layer mask and use a paint brush on the ground (black color). this will let the clean area pass through the white of the layer mask.

Hi Paul
I like the wide angle view here which really gives a sense of depth and vastness. And the 2s exposure has given a lovely velvety texture to the surface of the water, whilst keeping the nice ripples. Good use of the grad filter to create a beautiful mood. A good morning's work!

Your early morning forays certainly provide you with some lovely colour in the sky. The 2 sec exposure have smoothed the water out beautifully.
