"the golden hour"... Photo

Photographer’s Note

Taken some time back, a few blocks away from my house, whilst experimenting with my 350D....

I read somewhere, this time of the evening described as the "golden hour"...I can't seem to get that out of my mind now. I am not one for shooting sunsets or pretty landscapes. I am a city girl...

This area (Braunstone) is said to have the highest teenage pregnancy rate in Europe....

Well the golden light hour appllies to the city as well. I love it, as well as morning light but late afternoon light is the best. The light is gentle, it doesnt wash everything out and as a resukt the photo comes out the best. Lovely shot Kaj. Great light

"the golden hour"... or "towards the light" I went again... ;-) Isn't the same place? That's what I thought. Don't they distribute points or colourful stars for talents of observation in this site?! (Damn it!) Anyway, thanks for sending some new photos of your experimentations' laboratory :-)
Not much to say about this photo, I guess it's good sometimes to try photos/styles you are not so much used to shoot (pretty landscapes... well...). This beeing said, please go back to the city (where you belong, haha) and sent us some more of what you are really good at ;-)
No I'm jokking, it's not so terrible.... humm

And thanks for your last note by the way, it was really nice, that's why I felt I had to be honest to you and say that this photo really s.... Ahhh I can't say it ;-)

A very nice shot Kaz - I like the strong horizontals - the light of course -deep shadows and the haze - the seperation of objects across the whole frame provides so much for the eye to travel over.

It's a city picture. Not a landscape. It could be of course. But your picture tells too long about the city that we have in our back. I like it

Nice controlled lights here kaj.
But It is really very tight cropping indeed just for sake of big frame.
Bottom porton of the photo is just nice..but top portion is little bit allowing total picture to loos the balance.

To be frank..all this is hardly matter.
As compo.. this is nice shot with golden light.
Nice feeling while watching this photo.
