This is a father and son I bumped into yesterday whilst looking for shots. They were so friendly and we chatted for 20 minutes while they waited for the mother, and it turned out after a while we even had a mutual friend. Listening to the older man, Elroy, tell me about his time at university and the fun he had had was really good, not just for what he said but the way he said it. Although this shot is too bright in places, it really suits their happy mood and the conversation we had.
Tech: loads, the original was too dark. The only thing I didn’t do was crop : )
In short: Magic wand of their faces and clothes then adjusted in curves, then for the whole image; greyscale, tritone, adjusted in curves, USM at 60%. Added a frame.

I don't think it's too bright ..It's very well composed. Photography isn't only about perfection exposure wise, it's mostly about feelings. in this one you caught an happy moment and you shared it. Well done.

This is great portrait shot! You've captured the relaxed, conversational mood very well here. The black and white works very well here, and I like the detail and textures i can see. I also like the overexposed background. Well done!

Excellent, truly excellent! I really like the compo & the tones. Both expressions are great and they seem to interact with each other rather well. The shot is a bit blown out in places, but I think this adds to the final outcome quite well. Anyway, wonderful work.

Technic is not everything, the soul should be also there - and you managed well to bring that relaxed atmosphere. The face of the son maybe a bit brighter - but else I like it.
Well done, Bryan.

Excellent portrait! Well suited to B&W too (or sepia). This photo really has a nice feel to it, the faces carry a lot of expression. The background is also good.

I think it's a wonderful dual portrait shot, Bryan, and I can only fully subscribe to the way Claude worded it in his critique. This cheerful capture of the two guys against the residential area in the background is very much enhanced by your note. Very well done.

Good shot Bryan! It's a bit overexposed but the conversion to BW is a very smart decision. Very good expressions.

precious portrait of two generations.
both look relaxed and comfortable in front of your lenses, Bryan, and that is already something!

great capture ;)

Wow, Bryan, just great, and excellent b/w composition. The father's white hair is fantastic and so contrasting with the son's dark skin. And the light is so..great. Very very well done. Keep on with these amazing people shots.

I have wonderful memories from our colleagues in Manchester Metropolitan University Bryan - you just brought them back with your notes..:-)
Great choice of Sepia! IMO it makes the picture works even stronger and strenghtens the impact of the mood in it. Very well seen and captured!

Hi Bryan, what an interesting capture. Image is sharp and on closer look, they both look really alike. Thanks for the notes too.

What is nice about this image is that it seems to capture your entire story, yet the story isn't needed to make the image feel this way. Very nice, intimage, honest image.

Great double portrait pic ! You nicely composed it, the portraits follow a nice diagonal in the image. Very good details and a special mood which brings a smile to the viewer, thank you !

Tremendous engaging subject. If you had their attention, some eyes into the camera might be more compelling?
Still, this is pleasing to look at.
