"Motion along the Thames"
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Just across the Thames River from Big Ben and Parliament you'll find the Saatchi Gallery. A contemporary art gallery opened in 1985 by Charles Saatchi to showcase his sizeable collection.
This exposure shot was taken with compact Canon Powershot S50. You can see the blur of people walking walking to and fro in contrast to the stationary people sitting outside the gallery.
I wish I could have captured more of the rotating London Eye in the background. Unfortunately back in 2003 I didn't have the camera gear I do now...
I hope you like the shot!

Hi Dan,
excellent effect with this long exposure, one would be believed day of sold and that people run at any speed in the stores.
Great composition
Regards
Philippe
Very nice tones here, Dan, creating a strong twilight/nighttime feel. Very nice composition, too, with the flow of people coming out of the corner of the image. It looks like you found a good high POV--what were you on? Regards, Ken.
Hey Dan,
You're good even way back 2003! Very good impression of motion, you positioned yourself bravely in the middle of the maddening crowd!
Cheers!

Hi Dan,
I missed a bunch of your photos. Well, I am back on TE and feeling recharged (especially after a very short rejuvenating trip to the Rockies).
Anyway, I really love this black and whity shot. The details are fantastic in this one and I love how you captured the movement! Great composition and good use of light as well!
Greetings,
Ann
Hi Dan,
Knowing the Saatchi gallery I think this image works well as, with its motion blur and monochrome, it has the feel of contemporary art itself.
Bonjour,
Sympathique essai.
Bonne journée.
