Photographer’s Note
There is something about rooftops and rooves that fascinates me. I think it has to do with all the shapes and angles that you see silhouetted against the sky. And when you look close enough, you discover that each country has its own typical rooftops - and skies. I have seen several rooftop shots here on TE and long toyed with the idea of a group theme. I start by posting this and then we will see about the theme.
This was taken a November afternoon in south London after the rain, when the sun came out just before setting - as it often happens.
Tech: Just cropping.

Lovely strong colour and contrast.
I think you need to include more part of the roof.

This is cool, Per - quite a simple idea for a composition, but as I think it turned out very effective. Some special light you captured here, and the tones of red and orange on the roof are great. Great patterns as well, with the bricks, tiles and those cylinder-shaped things on top of the chimneys. You could probably have completely desaturated the sky to make it look totally gray. Well done!

Funny how we get the same ideas - I spotted a nice little tacked roof yesterday, about the size of the one you posted.
But it was a grey raniy day - so must come with the sun ;-)
Very well spotted - The combination with a dark sky in the background and a strong low sun on that fine red roof works perfect. I like the textures as well - wonder what use (if any) the holes in the top has. Great work Per - keep them comming.

Hi Per, first good contrast with the orange rood and the sky. Nice that the colour almost comes back at the top of the sky. 3 chimneys for such a "small" looking house. Very well seen and taken :) Yours, Jan

Indeed a wonderful low light on this roof.
I also like shapes of chimney tops and different shades of reds.
Interesting how chimney pots differ from region to region!
Thanks for sharing, Per.
