[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
St Mary's lighthouse can be reached between the tides via a short causeway, St Mary’s Lighthouse has all the fascination of a miniature and is a part-time island.

The Lighthouse was completed in 1898, on a hazardous coast for shipping, remained operational until 1984 when it was superseded by modern navigational techniques.

Visitors can climb the 137 steps to the top of the Lighthouse, which provides spectacular views of the North East coast. The surrounding Nature Reserve contains an area of rock pools, cliff top grassland, a beach and a wetland habitat.

kenneth.

I agree with your hazardous coast statement and you amplified this by the shipwrecking rock objects. It looks like your point of view was on a spit or dyke, simlar to the one in the left farground.
or..... i guess it could have been neap tide.

i like the colour hue. I wonder what filter you used.
thanks for the foto.

The reflections are very nice to see, the stones help to give us sense of space. Good POV and light, the option by BW was right.

Hello Kenneth,

That's a beautiful picture.
EXCELLENT point of view.
The subject is sharp and well placed.

In 2 word : Well done!

TFS,

François

This is a gorgeous photo. It looks like it could be an inspirational poster or something. Great POV and your note is very helpful in giving an idea of what the place is like.

What I like about this photo: it's sharp, moody, focused well and nice and contrasty. I would have been tempted to try it in a portrait format to emphasise the vertical lines of the lighthouse, and also a POV a little lower to the water surface to exaggerate the size of the rocks in the foreground.

Hi Kenneth

Beautiful picture. I like the shark reflections and how the B&W increases the contrast of those reflections. Good framing as well.

Thanks for sharing ;o)
