Photographer’s Note
St. Hildas Church looks down on the quaint cottages from the harbour cliffs of Whitby, North Yorkshire.
This picture is taken from the roof of Whitby's Woolworths shop. I like the moody colours, but not the float in the harbour.
No photo shop editing took place except a slight crop. I used a tripod.

Lovely town, with those motley houses packed together as if they had mustered to strike a pose. One might call it a patchwork, thanks for working it out before winter dusk turns into a frosty night, and the cottages huddle tighter to sleep cosy.

Nice composition with castle, and red roof houses below.
Some things could be improved as well. I think that color balance is not correct - the photo looks too cold.
The same photo taken just few minutes later would probably look better. Here the sky is too light and yellow street lights are not very visible yet.
I have made some changes in the workshop version - darkened the sky a bit and adjusted colors.
