[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I've just returned from Scotland having spent the Easter weekend hiking in the Highlands. On the first day we had a relatively short walk up Glen Nevis, the valley next to Ben Nevis - the highest mountain in the UK.

Our route followed the southern bank of the river which has a much less defined path than the tourist track on the other side. The first part was over the rough terrain you see here and then we had to resort to scrambling over the rocks when we passed through the gorge. The physical effort and damp weather was worth enduring for the spectacular scenery.

As you can see there is still snow on the top of the mountains from about 600 metres altitude upwards.

Hi Jonathan,
Beautiful light you've captured here on the winteryellow grass and the snowcapt mountains.
Thanks and regards, Gerrit

Good POV and colors. Nice landscape. The weather can sure be menacing there but worth enduring for some great climbs. Great work.

Good shot Jonathan! This presents the elemental forces of nature, with the wide open spaces, big mountains and big sky all taking their place in the scene. I can almost feel the cold wind! Well done!

Hi Jonathan,
I like the different layers that compose this shot: the gold colored ground, the dark hills and the sky with these huge clouds. This is a hike I would have enjoyed! :o)

Hej Jonathan,
A great view of the Highlands, I like the colours of the land contrast to the colours of the sky. A lovely landscape, thanks for sharing!

Hi Jonathan, You have well captured the highland scenery in this picture. Good golden colors in the foreground and the low cloud touching the mountain in the background. Good sharpness and nice depth. Well done.

Hi Jonathan,
Alluring tones and hues in this impressive landscape shot. I like the well lit foreground grasses contrasted with the dark slopes and the good DOF. You controlled the light here very well. A great captured, Jonathan. Looking forward to more shots from this hike.
John

Hi Jonathan,
That's what I most miss in my country - the mountains.
I also did some trecking, but in plain landscapes...
This image brings out good memories on me. The scenery is marvellous and the colours are amazing. The golden foreground contrasts beautifully with the dark background and the cloudy sky is not blue, but looks like watercolour painting, wich enhances the image. Very well done!

Impressive contrats between the dark moutains and the blue sky. Two worlds in a same place. Good depth too.
Well seen and realized.

Hi Jonathan.
Splendid colours and light for this landscape. The sky looks very powerful and must be a very nice place.

Thanks for share.

Hi Jonathan,
great composition, I like it...
thank you,
regards,
J.

Jonathan salut !
L'Ecosse est un beau pays et ta photo nous le montre. Le premier plan jaune nous invite à progresser dans le paysage jusqu'aux montagnes qui, ici, prennent des allures de sommets alpins. Belle réalisation !
Jacques

Hi Jonathan,

the scenery is splendid, the colours rich if not slightly oversaturated /at least on my monitor it looks so/...still the contrast you've captured is great...i like the perspective here and the feeling of getting to the place you've created...cheers, arturo
