Photographer’s Note

A charity abseil in the city centre of Manchester. I shot this in October last year (close to my birthday, actually ;) and posted two photos already. This is another of my favourites.

Sometimes I'm quite surprised at just how varied Manchester can be. I've been here almost three years now, which is more than long enough to stifle any innovation and creativity... but given just the right conditions I can sometimes surprise myself :)

I like the POV here, Lewis! Compressed with vertical and horizontal lines, with dramatic contrast! The clouds in the BG sure add to the overall drama!

Stark, startling image - few like it realy on TE. Excellent BW tones and contrast to suggest what the title syas.

Nicely captured, I like the repetitive patter in the wall and the way you have positioned the climbers to give us the context of their activity,

Good composition, Lewis and certainly a good choice in going for a B&W conversion putting the focus on the lines of the facade. Don't know what they're doing, but sure looks impressive from here.

A great decision to make this shot black and white, it has brought out the repetitive lines in the building quite well. Also a good decision with the crop, it further enhances the height of the building.
