Photographer’s Note
Another one of people at the Great Central station in Loughborough on Saturday. One of the options on the lunchtime weekend trains is to have a meal on the train. The dining cars are done out like they were in the '50s, with table cloths and lamps. There's also a car steward, another volunteer, who dresses the part, and makes sure everyone who's boooked it in at the table before the train leaves.

Hi Richard
S uperb portrait with good sharpness, dof, tonal range & diffused lighting. I like the graphism, & serious look of the man. Well done!

Hi Richard, good portrait here, calling Woodehouse and Jeeves to my souvenirs. I feel tempted to take the train only for the meal..

did thay have to recruit some actors to play the stiff roles like this one? it looks so victorian and british to me! ;-).. "Would you have a cup of tea, sir?" i love it! I must have been a brit in another life... before or after I was a buddhist monk, of course...;-) haha!

Hi Richard
This reminds of a trip I made with our local veteran train two years ago - the conductor was dressed like in the old times - May be an idea for a post as well - You captured this fine steward with a fine attitude - thanks for letting us see this.

Interesting shot R. and it sure seems as the guy here takes his job in the most serious way. Good portrait of the man.

So utterly British, again, Richard, there is something reminiscent about The Remains of the Day by Ishiguro in his expression... something so sad and devoted and loyal to traditions. A fantastic work, great shot, quintessentially of your great Island Country that still withstands the tidal waves of total annihilation of deep-seated traditions.

Superb portrait, Richard, of an almost butler-like presence here. My only nitpick would be with the slight magenta tone of his skin. But very nice work indeed...
Cheers,

I fully agree with Sasa here, I love this british behaviour and devotation to their tradition. Excellent capture Richard.

The titel: "Any more for lunch?" makes me smile ... I can hear him asking it in superb Oxford English :))
Great portrait and crop with the caution sign on top!

Interestingly funny Richard...!
I am looking forward to meeting you on Monday (especially) after seeing this...
his expression tells me a lot about your interaction on that journey. How British... with that groomed hair, the uniform and restrictive sign behind him!
