| This was taken on new years day at the most northern point of the Isle of Man ( a small island in the Irish Sea ) I hope you like it, it's my first posting! The island is kind of it's own country but cumbria is the nearest UK County |

Very nice shot Toby, I like the soft colors and the silohette line, keep posting!
Welcome to TE, Toby !!
well done for your first shot :
mayB other can give you better suggestions for its technics,
but I liked the "mood" of your picture,
I thoght mayB a vertical framing or another type of crop would do better, but it just ruins the effect of the clouds which have an important role in yr pic.

hi toby..and welcome from a newbie
good shot and full of atmosphere..
i like the low horizon since the sky is the main source of lighting.
using 1/3rds can help to break up a shot if possible but since the sun is down there is no afterglow to fill the other 1/3..
not an easy shot to do..its good
a very beautiful sight, I like framing and the environment of the photograph, it is well made.
