"The Palace of Westminster, known also as the Houses of Parliament, is where the two Houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (the House of Lords and the House of Commons) conduct their sittings. The Palace lies on the north bank of the River Thames in the London borough of the City of Westminster, close by other government buildings in Whitehall. Coordinates: 51°29′58″N, 0°07′29″W

The oldest part of the Palace still in existence, Westminster Hall, dates from 1097.The palace originally served as a royal residence, but no monarch has lived in it since the 16th century. Most of the present structure dates from the 19th century, when the Palace was rebuilt after it was almost entirely destroyed by a fire in 1834. The architect responsible for rebuilding the Palace was Sir Charles Barry, and the building is an example of Gothic revival. One of the Palace's most famous features is the clock tower, a notable London tourist attraction that houses the famous bell Big Ben.

The Palace contains over 1,000 rooms, the most important of which are the Chambers of the House of Lords and of the House of Commons. The Palace also includes committee rooms, libraries, lobbies, dining-rooms, bars and gymnasiums. It is the site of important state ceremonies, most notably the State Opening of Parliament. The Palace is very closely associated with the two Houses, as shown by the use of "Westminster" as a metonym for "Parliament". Parliamentary offices overspill into nearby buildings such as Portcullis House."

Fantastic photograph ana!

I love the way you captured the old buildings of England!
Excellent DOV and POV!
I hope you like my workshop.

Cheers!

hello ana, thank for your note, it teaches a lot about the houses of parliament. The shot is ok , great POV but a bit to dark and also tilted to the left. the photoshop would have corrected it.

Nice shot Ana - the B&W gives it a dramtic touch.

Hi Ana,
Good POV here, my friend! I like the way you include the bridge as it gives perspective to your image... Good details but I have to agree on the slight tilt..!
Have a nice Sunday!

Fernando

Impressive view of this splendid palace with a great arhitecture.Good choice for b&w, my friend.
Regards
Isabela

- Good idea to have used the black and white, that still adds to the austere aspect of the place, cheer!

Hola ana
Buena compo y buen detalle de B&W supongo que decidiste el B&W como alternativa para superar el cielo claro. Buen trabajo

Hi Ana,

This image had catched my eye the moment I saw it on your thumbnail, but had to wait a little because I also liked very much the 'Snow' photo.

I like the composition very much (despite the slight tilt to the left).

On the other hand, I do really prefer this darker version, I think it has more personality and goes better with the B&W... it even gives the idea of a night shot under a very bright full moon (albeit this is totally subjective).

Cumprimentos e saludos!
Carlos

Hi Ana,
Yes,It is tilted to the left but excellent shot of this famous architecture and B&W composition idea is really great and good note.TFS

Hello Ana;
It's a wonderful B%W landscape photograph...
The composition and ambience are perfect...
TFS...
Stay well..
Salim.

Beijinhos,
Ricardo

Hi Ana!
It's a great photo of London! The composition and the misty grey colours suit well to the image of this rainy metropolis. (I haven't been there.
Thank you! Be well!
Anette

Nice framing of this worldwide famous building. The B&W enhances the contrast and gives also a post apocalyptic impression.
Yes it's true the picture is tlted to the left and I like the WS correction but I prefer your original "color" conditions.

Olá. Esta tua foto parece um postal. Em tons adequados a uma cidade como Londres...
Excelente! Fica fixe. :O)
