Photographer’s Note
This photo show part of the now un-used track that runs along the southern side of Spike Island, across this bridge and joins (rather pointlessly now) the national network a little further south. The primary use for this iron-work bridge is now as a foot-bridge across the River Avon (literally the River "River", as Avon is an old celtish word for river). It's a tidal river, and so you are missing nothing not getting it in the shot, because most of what you would have seen at this time were mud-banks. Yes, the city does have a lock-controlled water-way. No, this is not inside it.
This shot was taken by holding my camera over my head to get it above the fence marked "danger, do not enter, unsound structure". I love industrial ruins, their functionallity so plain, and thus their disuse exposed very directly to the eye. Or lens. This was taken as RAW, converted to monochrome in Canon's Digital Photo Pro, and USMed and coloured in PS. Yes, I know it's at an angle :) The image is a little noisier than I would have liked, but I had to use ISO 800 as it was getting quite dark.

Hi Robert.
Great photo. Nice lines and symmetry. The B&W works really nicely. Nice interesting composition. I think the angle works well also.

I like this picture taken with the camera at angle. It gives the impression that the bridge together with all these industrial ruins will collapse in a nearby future.

Hello Robert, I appreciate your choice to not align the photo, the result is very good also for the B&W, my compliments.

Robert,
the angle does make this photo different. Nice perspective. I believe noise is not a problem with a B/W photo about abandoned structures, ruins. It emphasises the feeling of loneliness, destruction.
Good Work!
