Photographer’s Note
Meteors - Geminid Meteors to be precise - can you see them...exactly...my frustration entirely. Now, I should make clear that before grabbing ye olde camera and tripod and rushing outside I did see a meteor passing across the sky. But, for the half hour of remaining clear sky there was but nought to be seen.
So instead, I present the meteor shower that wasn't. Now, if there aren't any meteors what is the green line...that my sweet hearts, my little bundles of chocolate dreams is the laser which marks the Greenwich Meridian and goes within 25m of my flat. At the top is the moon, at the bottom is the Millenium Dome (and the Thames). If you look closely in the centre you can just make out the belt of Orion (or whatever it is in your own culture).
Everything is bent as I was using a fisheye to capture as much of the sky as possible - just in case a meteor should happen to pass by.

After many trials and errors may be the meteor will show off. Good luck next time.
This one is very original with the green Greenwich laser meridian taken with the fish eye len. No need of a meteor to disturb the capture of Bételgeuse and Rigel major stars of the Orion constelation seen in the sky.

David, maybe you didn't manage to capture meteors but you definitely captured another wonderful photo for your portfolio.
The colors here are amazing. It has some qualities that you normally find in painting.
The fish eye made some strange effect on the dome, but I like it. The positionning of the laser making an excellent composition. Low light was also controlled very well
Cheers,

David,
one of the most original photos on TE. Canon should use this to market the camera - the colours are outstanding and there is no noise to be seen. Superb.

Hi David,
The fisheye is used to great effect here and you have controlled exposure very well. As others have comented, the laser really adds to the composition as does the moon.

Hi David
I really like the fisheye effect, the colours and the reflection. The laser going through the moon is stunning. It's almost Trek Lensy. Well seen.

Hello David,
a fantastic picture, I don't know if there is any PP but I like the result, a colors festival, just a delight for my eyes.
Well don
