What Lies Beyond? Photo

Photographer’s Note

Taken at the same place (Windmill Hill, Gravesend) as my previous submission, at the same time - during heavy mist. I originally took this shot in colour with a graduated tobacco filter. However, when I finally viewed the picture on my PC, I was rather disappointed with the result - the colour at the top of the image (provided by the filter) was overpowering in relation to the grey foreground. It was at this point that I decided the image looked best in black and white (converted using Photoshop).
On a clear day, this vantage point provides a view of Gravesend Town and the River Thames beyond.

A majestic tree that looks great as a silhouette against the mist. Maybe I'd rather took a greater distance to get the whole tree. CU, Erik

Mist photos are hard to get balanced between bright and dark, well done! I really like the way you've composed this. The tree seems to be reaching out into the mist for...us?

Very nice shot. The mist makes the tree and the entire picture looks great. But i think the whole tree would have look better. I like the blacke and white very much.
