Photographer’s Note
This pine tree is in Whipendell Woods near my home in Watford.
I took the photograph on a gloomy autumn (fall) day and had to use a slow shutter speed in order to bring out the colours in the bark (it was very gloomy at ground-level). I also employed a wide DoF in order to keep as much of the bark's texture in focus as possible whilst still showing the dramatic architecture of the tree's branches.

Very nice picture. Colours are quite good and the trunk texture is perfect.

Nice original viewpoint, and used to great effect. The bracnches just get better and better as they go up the tree. Well captured.
