Photographer’s Note

This is the fourth photo from our day out at Thorp Perrow Arboretum. For information see here and here.
I took this one just across the lake from the house. I wish we had been allowed at the other side so I could have had the reflection of this tree in the lake. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Hi Kath...it's every day beautiful open TE and find a your image!
also that one have great autumnal colours, a great light and a great view on a fantastic landscape!

A Midas Touch indeed. Reminds me of the Old Master paintings in the National Gallery. Well everything works here. Perhaps the leaves are a tad bright, but I'm only nit picking.

Great colors in the trees leaves, good levels and detail. I like how we cannot see the house- but your are given a hint of it looks like via the reflection on the lake.

Lovely autumn weather. Nice composition, dividing the frame to tree, water and background. There's something in those leaves, that JPG compression cannot handle well. There's compression artefacts in the sky, and I have the same problem myself.

Hello Kath,

maybe I'm a culture-barbarian, but I never heard of Midas. Your photo shows us beautiful green-yellow colours in combination to the blue. Perhaps when you ask the owners permission by showing them your curriculum of TE...

hi kasia, a lovely very lovely image, one of the best autumn shots on te - with that water thing in the bottom and a huge part of the image occupied by the yello tree - its a real pearl in the fall photographs;

Hi Kath. Personally I don't see any artifacts in the sky. I would imagine they are there but I would think because of the randomness in the leaves that would help conceal it. At any rate I do like the reflections. Nice one Kath.

Bonjour Kath,
je suis amoureux des charmes de l'automne, il donne à ces arbres que j'aime déjà beaucoup, leurs plus belles couleurs, le printemps s'occupant des fleurs et des senteurs.
Un très bon cadrage et une exposition pafaite, des couleurs bien saturées.

Nice colours of Autumn. Appearance of shadows and leaves on the water provide a different feeling.

Hi Kath,
Old gold but still lovely. One does expect the tree to be reflectied in the lake but it actually adds delightful & mysterious detyail to see the reflection of the building hidden behind the trees.
