[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was driven to get a shot like this firstly because of the fab "lonely tree" shots on TE and my love of Ansel Adams work. In Hertfordshire we are quite lucky in that lonely trees are quite common and there are many large areas untouched by urban development. This shot was taken in fields between Wheathampstead and Hatfield. Modifications in PaintShop Pro were: B&Wing, a slight sharpening and some lens correction as the horizon was bent due to using zoom. I also darkened the image slightly to bring out the detail in the clouds.

Very fine B&W and a fine composition with the tree in one half of the picture. Well done!

Simple but efficient composition. Nice B&W pict.

Common, lonely and excellent. Very well captured and PS work. I like the shape of that tree, Very good job, Tim.

I like the simplicity of the photograph, the tree on the corner is very well placed and the threatening sky is perfect, the composition is really good.

Very nice photo. We have something in common, the love for Ansel Adams work.
You composed a wonderfull image with this lonely and wonderful tree. Nicely done.

the B&W makes it looks so beutiful
and the b/w makes it even more highlighted.

Very well done. The tree is incredibly sharp and its pattern comes out superbly against this sky, grey but with some light coming out beind the clouds.

Such a sharp silhouette against that loaded sky... I get cold when looking at it. You succeeded in creating a great moody atmosphere with a few elements, less is more here, well done!

Brilliant composition. The darkening really makes the tree stand out. I like the way the tree stands alone on the right hand side. A great contribution to TE and yes, it fit's perfectly in Lonely Tree Theme. Well done Tim!

Majestueuse nature,,,quand tu nous tiens....

Mais encore faut -il prendre le temps de la regarder...et c`est ce que vous avez fait à merveille..
Bravo...une autre favorite pour moi
