Photographer’s Note
The great thing about a trip to Bath, is the possibility of calling in at Stonehenge on the way home. I thought I would follow my series on Bath, with a short series on Stonehenge as it was part of the same trip. I know I have posted on this place before (my very first post no less), but that was a different camera :o)
I took the opportunity of having a good play with the 10-22 lens while I was here. We were very lucky with the weather as the rest of the weekend had been rather damp - I think the stones look at their best with lovely fluffy clouds behind.

Hi Sarah: I´ve always wanted to visit this place you portrait here wonderfully. The light add magic to this circle already misterious. The green grass made it more appealing. Congratulations for the framing too. Take care.

Bonjour Sarah,
rare de voir des photos amateur de ce site pourtant mythique.
Quelques améliorations à apporter au niveau de l'exposition et de la netteté, elle me semble sombre et un peu floue.
Merci pour le partage.
Daniel.

I like pictures of Stonehenge whithout disturbing elements (Tourists, cars, plastic can, coke etc...). With «Return to Stonehenge» it seems that the viewer is back in time, many hundred years BC (Jean-Pierre)
P.S. I placed this one in my favorites

Hi Sarah,
It's been a while since I saw my last Stonehenge picture here but I'm always much impressed by these ancient remains, your close shot approach does not leave much room for composition variations but has the advantage that we can well see the details, I appreciate too the good clarity and the clouds that enrich the sky, they are slightly overexposed on the right part but do add something to the view. I'm not sure this photo lacks sharpness, I'd say it's just right so imho.
Nice photo Sarah and oohhhhhhhhhh, what a fine lens you've got ;-)))
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Sarah
you certainly had a good day for shooting this scene. The blue sky and puffy clouds, which you are brought out well with your polariser give an excellent backdrop against the more sombre stones. This kind of shot can be extremely difficult to exposure correctly, but you have managed well to bring out the textures in the dark stone. Great sharpness and colours too.

A clear shot of these stones - nice POV - perhaps the sky is a little overexposed.

Hi Sarah. I looked up your very first photo of Stonehenge and as an early effort it was actually quite good. However, looking at this I see a visible improvement - a confident and well-executed framing and a good time of day to shoot this and benefit from the lights and shadows. And of course the gear you are using now isn't all that shabby either :) The vivid contrasts and colors in this one are really nice, and the use of the polarizer turned out subtle, yet efficient. Very good.

This is one of the most interesting POV’s I’ve seen from this place. I really like the way you’ve framed the big structure off-centre bringing the immediate attention to it, which allow us in a second moment to explore the rest of the image.
The slightly curve structure in the background reinforces this by “pointing” to initial element. It creates a coherent and harmonious composition. Just wished that you’d framed a bit higher or lower to explore the space of the sky or the perspective feeling with a large grass foreground.
Also like the tones and even the flat contrasts even if I prefer bold contrasts. The colors are also nice and the weather perfect for these photos.
