London Underground Photo

Photographer’s Note

This was taken on an escalator in the London Bridge Underground station. The girl in the photo looked she was thinking, "Where the heck am I going?", which is easy to understand if you are a visitor to London trying to find your way around using the public transportaion system.

I rotated the shot back to the angle that the escalator was originally and flood filled the empty corners with black and desaturated everything else but her and also she is the only person in focus, both to direct viewer's attention (and to allow me to play more in PS).

using your 10D inside the subway in London??? mannn you can get shot!!! your the fever has gone already? :P nice work with PP, typical but effective to get our attencion on your subject.

Cool idea- I like upward motion of your subject, but somehow it still makes the viewer feel like they're going down. Maybe its just because I've ridden too many escalators. Nice pp work. Good job!

I'm still feel uncomfortable using my camera in a public place after all those things happen in the world

Simply a great photo. Your postprocessing is fantastic and also your photo.
With the black and white is not very visible the rotation of the photo. A good, very good postprocessing.
Only one question. Only the woman is focused. How? Plamming?.
