Photographer’s Note
This Speckled bush cricket (Leptophyes punctatissima), was a new species to the nursery in fact we had a second type turn up as well , must have somthing to do with global warming as these I normally associate with the south of England.16mm long not inclueding all those antennae, not the brown area at the knee joint of the front leg thats one of its ears.Hopefully we will see more next year.

This is a very nice capture, it looks as if it's stroking its mouth contemplating whether to run or stay ;-) I don't think I've ever seen a photo of one of the crickets with these long antennae and all of the antennae inside the DOF. I have my doubts as to whether it can be done.

The green is so beautiful, and the cricket is so sharp. I like the texture of the log beneath it. The scratching of the nose gives it personality. I envy your talent.

Terrific. When I saw the thumb I wondered why you didn't crop the top half, then I saw those great antennae! The colours on this creature are really lovely. Well done.
