Middle of nowhere Photo

Photographer’s Note

On a recent holiday to Devon, we took a drive into the middle of Dartmoor just to see the scenery.
This photo was taken near the centre of the moor, just off the B3212 which is one of very few roads that go through the moor. The rock formation you see was quite a walk from the road and looked quite small at first, but it's very large, you may just be able to make out some people in between the rocks.

Hi Andy,

I sort of like the outcome of the Grey Filter, although I do think it makes the picture a wee bit too dark. That's about the only real nit I have and I guess for the most of it you can blame it on the overcast weather. The picture really has a crisp and clear look and I can hardly believe this is shot with the crappy kitlens. The f13 and the tripod really work miracles with this lens. Well done! You are really pulling the best out of this lens. I am so looking forward to the pictures you will be shooting with your new 17-40 L-lens! :) O yeah, I love the composition in this picture and the frame is also very nice; the two black borders give it a widescreen look. The clouds in the sky are fabulous. Well worth the 2 points. It's a shame most people just look at the thumbnails. If they would bother to look at the full size picture and see what lens you used, they would appreciate your efforts. Don't let those b*stards get you down though. ;) Keep on posting. :) TFS!

Ps-What kind of tripod do you use on trips? Is it a big and heavy one or a small adjustabble tripod?

Yes, I hiked there some time ago. Amazing place. I think the picture is a bit too dark - however Dartmoor is gloomy itself... Greetings. Michal
