Photographer’s Note
Just driving along towards Robin Hoods Bay, minding my own buisness when this cross in a redundant church yard caught my eye.
Leapt out of the Hymer and snapped it.
In PS used channel mixer(r60G20B20) boosted curves a touch and sharpened.

It is a very nice view, with an intersting cross. The composition is good, with the wall on the left. The B&W, together with the sky contribute to give a dramatic atmosphere.
Well done.

My favourite celtic cross......
And photographed in such a nice way, also with the wall in the left. Very clear and sharp, as always, nice B/W, Richard, always nice to see this cross !

Great shot Richard, B&W really suits the subject giving the photo a strange unreal atmosphere.
The composition is wonderful with the cross in the foreground and the bay in the background.

Hi ! You present here a beautifull picture. The composition is very successfull. The cross at the first plan let anyway enought place too the other elements of the place like the wall and the the bay. I can't decide if I think that B&W is well chosen or not but it's a very good picvture anyway

It's really a great moment to discover your B&W pictures Richard. I like the way you play with the image to improve contrast and details. I'm a bit jealous because I'd like to be able to perform the same technique :)
But before manipulating curves, the main objective is to have a personal point of view to make great pictures. An you proove it another time with this picture.
Really well done with a great perspective generated by the wide angle lens, the little stone wall in the left side and the various lines of clouds in the sky.
The cross in the foreground is perfectly placed and is the start point for our eyes before seeing the whole bay. And they can see a lot of details because you've provided a large depth of field with the choosen aperture.
So you've understood that I think your picture is really well done.
Ok I stop writing :)

Great shot Richard.
Nice detail on the big cross standing proud against the darker, shorter headstones. Fantastic DOF with a nice view of the bay in the diatance.Wonderful tones as usual.

Nice Shot Richard, B&W works well here, I like the cross & the wall in the forground and the coast and the eerie sky in the bachground.

Strong and bold composition, Richard. Your point of view really gives this cross some importance as it towers over the scene beyond.

I like the position of the cross in the frame, but I especially like how the line of the stone wall is mirrored by the line of cloud above it.
A dramatic shot thanks to the low angle of the light, and a superb B&W conversion. Well caught!

Great picture!
The cross is well positionned and the light is fine.
The f16 aperture was a good choice, too.
Good show!
