Ice, a photo from North Yorkshire, England

This image was taken a couple of years ago, I thought it may cool everybody off during the warm weather we are having in Europe. The image was taken while I was out walking on top of the moors. I'm sorry I can't remember the exact location. I particularly love the tones in the water and the green of the bank adds colour.

Thinking about winter already - some welscome sensations in this picture - it's so muggy here right now - I seem to appreciate winter more and more as I get older - but I also appreciate the idea of getting way for winter sun too! A nice picture Annie - I like the 'serial' shapes running back from the foreground and as you pointed out that swatch of colour in the background really lifts the picture.

Wish I could see ice here!
Beautiful image, strong contrasts and very fine details.
The river flow catches the eye which continue and go up to the top part.

Thanks for sharing this nice cold picture during the hot summer!

Good shot Anne and well spotted.

I like the way the ice is in patches with the river running through it and the touch of green at the top right which gives a nice contrast.

beautiful shot anne! well done, it all works well! you should be thinking about teh summer, but as i read somewhere else you prefer to take pics in the winter, and i think a agree with you there, its refreshing to see a picture like this at this time of the year! thanks for sharing.

im just wondering where abouts in the area do you live? i live in redcar, and try to give people a view of what its like here! and i alsohave noticed we have been to some of the same places!

anyways, your going on my favourites list so i dont miss many more of your shots! :) keep shooting!

oh before i forget, do you know feather from a photography class? did she tell you about this site? because i told her about it! :) maybe im barking up the wrong tree :)

Great shot Annie, I bet it was cold out when you took this shot! Do you have a stockpile of photos ready to post!

The thing I like most about this is how the snow clings to the water along the rocks, but not the grass! Strange that!

Again picturesque as with so many of your shots, a real boost to your gallery : )

Hi Anne Just got back from holiday so am catching up with folk.
I thought this was a soft focus waterfall from the thumbnail!
Good DOF - sharp right through. I also like the strong contrast - Do I detect use of curves here?

ggood picture anne i like the way the ice seems to hover with the water running underneath it strange how the ice and snow cling to the water leaving the grass clear. nice photo. adrian
