Photographer’s Note

A little grainy (in old language) but then I was a great fan of the Eastern European fashion for graininess in the 80's (or so it seemed to me then!).

I am also a great fan of people enjoying themselves which is one of the reasons I guess I do what I do for a living - it was really good to see guys a little older than I was when the music first came out really getting into it in such a big way - as you will see there were even moments of hysteria later - just for a cover band. I say just for a cover band - T-Rextasy are considered about the best cover band in the UK and their music is great - it was a coldish night but this crowd were hot!

hi kev, this is great! and the story in the note perfectly describes the circumstances of the session; funny that the b/w comes back so often when we want to concentrate on the "action" instead of "the place" - now after seeing this (grainy) version i hardly can imagine a full colour, it woudn't do i think;

I agree the grainess of photo brings you into the subject of the photo. Must do more black and white photo's myself...

I have some Photographic yearbooks from the last 50 years and I can tell you that this fashion began in the late 50´s and going strong in the 60´s,70´s and 80´s.
The B/W and the grain work very good here,nice lines in your compo.excellent capture of the atmosphere here.

I like the feel of this shot, the use of B&W and the grain fits the mood of the shot perfectly. You have really conveyed the essence of the event.
