Photographer’s Note
- for oochappan & alvaraalto who miss my colours
A path that follows the top edge of the Little Cliff, just a few miles north of Scarborough, North Yorkshire. You can't see the sea but it's just down there on the left - these red shrubs cover the very edge of a 100 metres (110 yards) deep abyss.
Taken in the late afternoon with the sun being low and on the right.

Beautiful colors indeed, and a nice composition, too. Everything would look pretty good underneath this sky.

Hi Robert,
Indeed, very colourful photo. I like the open spacy of this beautiful landcape. The lines of the path give the photo a lot of depth and the sky is very nice, a bit surreal almost.

I love the colors here, and the very dramatic sky. The foreground is not too interesting, but you made really good use of the path to draw the viewer in. I think you really made the most of the scene. Thanks for sharing.

I just love the leading lines into this photo, Robert. They are gentle and contribute to the peaceful feeling of this image.

Bonjour Robert,
Je croirais voir une de mes photos, nous avons à peu près le même style pour un certain type de prise de vue.
Couleurs très chaudes, ciel très contrasté avec filtre polarisant.
J'adore.
Daniel.

Hi Robert
This picture is nice and a great atmophere. I like the color and the light. For me the right of the picture is little bit large.
I try an other composition.

My favourite kind of shot, Robert - a path, fields, natural colours. Very well executed. Usually I am walking long distance footpaths in England this time of year - last year I walked 320 miles on the Macmillan Way and a few shorter ones. You have handled the texture of the grass so well; did you use Neat Shop at all? I like how the grass to the left of the path acts as a transitional colour between the track and the bushes. I wish I was back walking there this year... Well done.

Hi Robi,
Thank for the colors. I really mustn't think of this picture in B&W. But I admit that there are occasions that B&W is the right solution. When I’m not sure why someone chooses for B&W I always ask for it. It interest me very much.

Thanks Robert and the waiting is largely rewarded. This path takes you on deep to the horizont where earth touch an incredible blue cloudy sky thanks to your polariser, I did use that filter but never got that fine result and deep coloring, your secret to it ?

Hi Robert, I like the composition of the picture. The road lead the view from the foreground curved round to distance away. The bright blue sky with white cloud made this picture very attractive. A very clear, clean, and well contrasted picture. Well done.

I like the composition of this shot the colours are very saturated and the lighting adjustments are just to the 'good' side of adjusted values - I take it you did a split selection levels type adjustment here?

Well, I guess this is indeed the best kind of shot to return to color, Robi. The late afternoon is a great time of day for shooting, and you made good use of the special low-light atmosphere. The composition is also well made with the sweeping curve of the path leading the viewer's eye through the scene. Good work with the contrast; the special cloud setting is well enhanced that way. It's great as is, one thing I might try though is reduce the noise in the sky a little.

Hi Robert, you did a very beautiful composition in this landscape, with the superb sky, with a great light and full of furious clouds.
The left way makes to move the eyes through the field. Very well done.
Best regards.

Hi Robi
This is a beautiful landscape shot, which could quite easily have looked a bit drab and boring. The colours you have captured really bring it to life - the sky is an amazing backdrop and really empahsises the red bushes. It epitomises a fresh spring day in the UK! Well done.
Regards, Sarah

I like the shot but the sky seems to of been added from another source, There are a few tell-tale signs such as the feathering around the tops of the bushes and the colour of light being cast over the ground just doesnt add up as from coming from that sky. Also the bottom half of the image seems very clean but there is a large amount of noise in the sky half. Was the sky added from another source?

Hi Robert, beautiful scenery, I like the strong contrast between the sky and the field and the excellent low light. The picture is well composed off centre position of the path which leads the eye along the field. The colours are saturated and superb and the clouds are fantastic. Well done!

Great large sky and nice color contrasts. I can understand those missing your colors. Try to give them more ... although I like the B&W at least as much.
