Just eleven years after Christopher Columbus discovered the New World in 1492, another Spanish expedition, led by captain Juan de Bermúdez, discovered "Bermuda" in 1503. Although the island, located 1280 km (800 miles) east of the US mainland, is named after Bermúdez, the Spaniards never settled it. In 1607 the British settled in Jamestown, Virginia, but two years later, shipwrecked off Bermuda in 1609, the British went on to establish a permanent settlement on the island.
Four hundred and nine years later, in 2016, the Crystal Symphony on which I was a guest lecturer visited the magnificent island. I've sailed across the Atlantic and Pacific a number of times, but this was my first visit to Bermuda, famous for its pink sand beaches. I took the photo during an excursion on a small tour bus. The pair of jutting rocks make a strong focal point, but it is the presence of the woman taking a morning stroll that makes this picture.
As I write this note it is 8:00 am on the East Coast of Virginia, 1:00 pm in England, and 2:00 pm in most of Europe, 3:00 pm in Istanbul, and 4:00 pm in the Urals of Serghei. I just finished watching the Australian Open Tennis Championship broadcast from Melbourne, where the time is now midnight, 16 hours ahead of us in Virginia. Swiss tennis star Roger Federer just defeated the Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal.

J'aime beaucoup la construction de cette image Un beau cadrage vertical qui place dans le coin, tout petit le personnage qui prend une marche sur la plage.

Bonsoir, cher ami Bulent,
Un grand merci de nous présenter une image qui fait chaud au coeur avec le temps gris et pluvieux du moment.
C'est curieux la présence de ces rochers perdus au milieu de l'océan.
La présence d'un personnage dynamise la composition.

Hello Bulent, beautiful shades of blue in the sea; a perfect morning to be taking a stroll along the beach.
I agree with you, it is the presence of the woman nicely positioned in the bottom r/h/corner that makes the picture.

Hi dear Bulent
Very calm and tranqulized image in the best vertical format. Very well proportioned shot too. A chaming alking lady is very good accent.
All the best and have a good day! Takero

Nice seaside landscape for a pleasant morning stroll on the beach, well framed with green vegetation in the FG and these original rocks, tfs.

No matter how lovely the view of the sea is, it's the woman walking along the beach who makes this a fine composition. The photo is well defined by the trees and the slice of sand at the bottom, the rocks a short distance away and the horizon. All these features create a fine balance, but it would nevertheless have been a less interesting photo without that single person. As for the note I think the time in the Ural area would have been 6:00 pm rather than 4:00, but never mind. Putin has a legacy of changing time zones ;-).

We see the lady, only and lonely walking on the beach.
Two big black rocks care for a perfect contrast, the gray sea together.
Nice composition and excellent sharp too.
Very well done, TFS.

Spotted well this beach strip from the bus, and swiftly taken a photo of.
I acn understand why the Brit's assume the rulling of this island. A fantastic seashores, some really secluded.
The bus window did not distract the beautiful water colors.
Have a nice ne week,

Selamlar Bülent Bey,
Indeed, the beaches of Bermuda are spectacular and this photo shows a fine example. I agree that the woman taking a stroll on the beach has made the photo. Well seen and rendered!

I hve never heard about the pink sand, this beach looks like normal sand. Very unusual beaches are somewhere in Mexico, they consist from tiny mussels and have this adventage that they are cool even in hot day. Such air conditioned sand :). Nice composition with the lone woman (CJ?) walking near the shore, bare feet. Lovely colours.
Kind regrads Malgo

I have seen this photo and I fell in love, such a beautiful minimalist shot, not only the lonely person but also two characteristic rocks in the sea, it is really something for me

J'aime le côté toujours spectaculaire et merveilleux de voir ces rochers qui semble flotter sur l'eau, les couleurs sont belles, la personne ajoute un plus , bon format aussi
