Photographer’s Note

Elephant seals lie on the rocky beach, which is strewn with whale bones, bleached by the sun. This bay was the site of a floating whaling factory ship and small shore base between 1908 and 1928.
On the steep green mountainsides high above the bay, we could see a herd of white reindeer eating the grass.
