Photographer’s Note

Welsh Piping Society orchestra marching on the main street in Cardiff.
I was following them for a while, taking pictures of people with the orchestra in the background.

Funny shot, with the plastic dog in the foreground. The expression on the somker's face is good to, and having someting in his mouth gives a link to to the pipers. Nice shot.

Hahaha, really funny picture Maciej. Other than the fact that is obviously a pretty funny picture with the juxtaposition of the ceremonial people and the laid back man, I like the strong black and white feel here, just disturbed by the occasional patch of color from the red kilts etc. Very nice picture. Thanks for sharing.

niezle zdjecie maciek wogule dobry kontrast i nie ma nic wypalonego tylko ten prawy gorny rog mnie zastanawia ale moze i dodaje wiecej symetri bez tego mogo by byz za monotonne sam nie wiem . Z jak przyslona bylo zrobione ?

I like this Maciek. It is not your best ever shot, but there is an absurdity about the guy, his cigarette and his fake pet dalmation with the band in the background. I do kinda wish the dog's head was not cropped and the storefronts don't make the ideal background, but I think you created something really quite good here. Have a good trip, wish I could join you.

Nice one again Maciej with a good working title. I think it's a little fun the way the kid in the pram is turned against the orchestra while the father(?) seems more or less bored looking in another direction. I guess it could be the kid as well as the father thinking "what am I doing here.." but probably the kid didn't had much of i choice. Another good thing with this picture is the man on the other side of the street with a pose that also underlines the title. The only one that seems to enjoy him self is the balloon dog, because not even the men in the orchestra seems really convinced about what they are doing there...

You have a good trip to India and I promise to have some streetpics from Sweden when you come back ; )

Veeery funny when you make the parallel between the blow pipes and the lifted tail of the dalmatian dog.

This is also enhanced with the stiff look of the guy who looks like blowing air out of his ciggie.. perhaps is he training to play balloon dog by blowing through its tail?!

This is the kind of shots that you can't realize on the moment or have it exactly right : that's what you enjoy when browsing your catch of the day.

I like very much the plastic dalamatin or whatever making a great contrast to that more blase smoker and the bypassing pipers. The background shops is a fine add on for 'setting the scene'.

Wicked. I keep thinking Cardiff must be a quite difficult place to find a good photo but you have definitely made the most of it here. Surreal and somewhat bleak. Beautiful.

Hello Maciej,
a nice image with a composition very effective.
i like the face of this guy and how you catch this moment.
(it seems to be more difficult to shoot people in UK than in asia)
