This is The Pavilion in the Derbyshire market town of Buxton, built in 1875 overlooking the extensive Pavilion Gardens and lying adjacent to the town's Opera House which was built several years later in 1902.
If you wish to learn more about the history and recent development of this building, the authorities here have prepared an interesting short video which you can watch here.

Hi John! Very lovely indeed. A real eye pleaser with such wonderful subject matter, and expertly captured. Looks even better in the beta version, (in spite of the pop up window for facebook), Fine work, regards, Steve

Hi John, The length of the building creates a great sense of depth to the composition. Nice view with the building against the gorgeous sky. The women break the silence of the moment. The man in the back has a good touch to the far end elements. Wonderful sharpness and details along with splendid light and colours. Thank for sharing

Hi John, You post one photo after another, difficult to keep pace :). Wow, splendid view in beta. Excellent composition, stunning sharpness. Great perspective also. I havemn't heard about Buxtun, wondered what can be interesting there, buit it looks a very nice place. Superb shot.
I am excited as I will meet Gert today :). The weather is fine, without even one cloud, so it will be a fine day in Warsaw.
Warm regrads Malgo

Hello John - This makes me think of cucumber sandwiches, Earl Grey tea and a gentile afternoon constitutional around the gardens. A classically beautiful composition which shows off the lovely architecture to perfection. I see the sun continued to shine providing the shot with lovely crisp whites and a pretty sky.

Ta photo ressort très bien dans la galerie. Le Pavillon est de toute beauté et offre une très belle diagonale dans l'image très profonde. Le ciel est de toute beauté et la lumière fait bien ressortir les détails.

What an incredibly Victorian structure! Something I have never said before, but this place just oozes with its time and style. A timeless style in fact, and one which looks so good today among our modern buildings. Beautiful composition on the scene really leads the eye deep in, I particularly admire the strict vertical line of the left frame compared to the window frame. The soft fluffy sky offsets the almost austere nature of the building, while the pinnacle breaks the horizon strongly positioning the building as centre stage. Really nice, thanks for sharing.
All the best

How great of a name is that!
Did you know that Buxton is often used in hollywood for towns and cities - its very popular.
For me, those large white window panes make the scene.
take away that and it doesn't have as much visual punch. That, and the small yet large looking tower, two key components.
Man, I wish I had this skyline in all of my shots, its a beautiful set of clouds.
and of course Gert will be happy that you included some people too :)
enjoy your weekend, see you around
