The beach huts of Littlehampton add a splash of colour to the seafront. Brian (Timecapturer) has posted many super pictures from Littlehampton including the same beach huts (thanks Brian for inspiring me to visit Littlehampton again). It is only 35 mins from home so I should visit more often.
Littlehampton is on the south coast of England close to the South Downs National park. At the mouth of the River Arun it boasts both riverside and sea views. The town has undergone redevelopment in recent years and is a vibrant town with something for everyone. It is also close to Arundel which is nestled in the South Downs (chalk hills) with its spectacular castle and catherdral.

Bien vus ces cabanons aux couleurs attractives qui forment une belle courbe. Ce n'est pas une plage au sable fin comme dans ma région.
Amitiés et bonne journée.

You are right, this is very Brianesque but it still has a difference, which is your interpretation of the same theme. I think he has inspired many people on TE.
The colours are bright, the textures sharp and the compositional guiding is excellent.
I'm curious as to why the paint colour changes near the end. I wonder if they ran out of paint!
Have a good day,

The huts are looking very good in curvical line. Good colours and composition.
trevormoffiet (3112) 2014-06-10 1:53
A terrific composition with the beach huts curving around to reach a vanishing point on the distant horizon. The colours are rich and vibrant à la Brian.

I did think it was Brian's photo for a moment... :)
Superb use of complementary colours and leading lines. The sense of perspective and open space is so clear in this image. Lovely work.
Have a nice day

As other members , I thought that it was a post of our friend Brian !
The subject is great , and the persentation is perfect in all the aspects .

This si about as close to a crescent shaped structure as we got in Buxton! Though I have to say a few more days of rain and they may have built beach huts in the town who knows!
Great use of the curve to structure the shot and the contrasting colours give it further impact to emphasise each graphical shape of the shot.
tyro (23014) 2014-06-10 5:23
Ah, so after a disappointing few days of almost constant rain in Derbyshire you decided immediately to take yourself down to the Sussex coast! And I suspect that a few minutes there were probably more rewarding photographically that three days in Buxton!
This is a fabulous photograph, so reminiscent of the images of Brian and Jean Jacques, both of whose works we both admire.
Your composition is simple, bold and strong and your use of a wide angle lens has accentuated the perspective to produce what appears almost a never-ending row of identical huts - but with the "odd" bright blue one cleverly placed in line with a natural line in the shingle of the beach.
Glorious light and colours - and what a sky! It's stunning. Bang-on exposure and exquisite details and sharpness throughout.

Hello Ann - The elegant curve formed by the row of beach huts is a beautiful feature here. The huts seem to go on to infinity stretching along the beach looking sunny and bright and awaiting their weekend occupants.
I see the tiniest sliver of sea... did you go for a paddle?
amaryllis (36329) 2014-06-10 7:07
un très beau cadrage de ces cabines sur la plage et de belles couleurs vertes et jaunes
une forme en arrondie qui nous laisse une belle perspective

I love the intensive colour you produced, Ann. Superb!

are you sure your name isn't Brian? haha
surely looks like one of Brian's photos, but thats certainly a compliment.
excellent choice of pov, as the huts seem to curve into the scene as it gets deeper with more depth.
striking color set, striking first impression as you view the newly uploaded page.
fine shot, fun shot too.

Great vivid colors and great perspective.
Personally I would have cropped out the upper portion of the sky.

During the Second World War, the Germans built blockhouses here and there along the Normandy seacoast. Seventy years later, it's a wall of colourful beach huts, stretching endlessly along the South coast of England that awaits the peaceful citizens of the whole world. Excellent perspective and depth, and I like the way they lead the eye off in a curve across the photo. The perfect blue sky complements the whole scene perfectly. A visually stunning picture. Well done.

Tu as été inspirée par Brian mais tu as mis ta touche personnelle dans cette superbe composition colorée. Magnifique photo!

I have an almost identical shot from my trip to Littlehampton's beach-hut-land. Glad you had a day with blue skies it makes the huts all the more attractive as this shot clearly demonstrates. They look wonderfully colourful in this enticing perspective. Surprised that nobody was enjoying the sunshine. I agree the town has changed a lot, especially along the eastern bank of the river - very cosmopolitan.
Thanks for the mention Ann, extremely flattered by the attention.
speedymanu (3587) 2014-06-11 7:48
a delicate curve and a subtle touch of blue in the middle of the row to break the "monotony". I hope to see this in a month as I'll be rollerskating from Paris to Portsmouth, Littlehampton and Bognor Regis.
Have a nice day,

Hi Ann, We usually see these charming beach huts on Brian's photos. Beautiful row, it seems there is no end. Excellent composition. Superb colours.
But the beach doesn't seem specially attractive.

a lovely beach scene with warm colours and nice clear details.

I do enjoy the composition with the beach huts curving gently across the verticals,I also like your treatment of the sky with the wispy clouds adding their interest to the scene. Very alluring.
It`s good to see that they have survived the winter storms unscathed.
Warm regards Les.

SWEETFREEDOM (24118) 2014-06-14 0:35
i like the p.o.v. you have chosen, very attractive. colors and contrast perfect. every time i see a picture of beach huts on t.e. it strikes me how big they are compared to the ones we have in Italy. nearly half the size.
Cricri (113639) 2014-06-14 7:40
Ah oui c'est un style a Brian, qui est superbe par le POV et les couleurs formidables, bravo
siolaw (38292) 2014-06-14 10:45
You have perfect graphism and strong perspective here!
The effect is enhanced by the great sharpness and intensity of colours.
Greetings (after a long time!)
batalay (37449) 2014-06-16 14:17
I like very much the repeating pattern created by the beach huts, especially against the pristine sky displaying the gradations in blue. Good composition and depth-of-field.
holmertz (47150) 2014-06-17 6:39
This line of beach huts seems to go on forever, the designs and colours getting more haphazard further back. I like a certain degree of monotony in a composition, but it has to be broken somewhere, like at the end of this line. Since we don't actually see the sea, these huts make a slightly absurd impression on me, like they were built somewhere in the desert. I like the strong and vivid colours very much.
Graal (101108) 2014-06-17 23:07
nice theme well done. I like the composition and colors. Good photo-work.
Have a nice day.

So the sun is back in England!
You've copied Brian's theme (that's one of the TE advantages and interest) to make a stunning colored perspective perspective!
Gigidusud (18723) 2014-06-20 14:26
Indeed it's the Brian's style! A beautiful alignment of these colorful cabins with great perspective. Well done!
Have a nice Week-end.

This photo reminds me only one name. Another attractive and very picturesque scene, excellent choice of the PoV, good example of minimalist composition and gorgeous colors. TFS!

Sometime simplicity made a jewel. I like this simple composition with long perspective of the beach huts.
Great observation as well the quality of the photo.
