Good Morning Everyone,
Around my area, there are stretches of wild moorland. They connect the very edge of Lancashire with North Yorkshire.
It is part of our country that still has a 'wildness' about it like Dartmoor or Exmoor. We don't have wild ponies but there are wild deer and, of course, the far less wild sheep.
From the higher points, on a clear day, the views are splendid. It was clear when I took this shot and Pendle Hill ( renown for its association with the Lancashire Witches) can be seen raising its head in the distance.
Here is a bigger version.
I wish you lovely day, Bev :-)

Good morning Bev,
An interesting note about the geography of the land in your area and a wonderful panoramic view of that land taken in beautiful light - though not just now but in December.
I love the long streak of bright sunlight which illuminates the mid ground, lifting it nicely from the foreground and the more distant view. The near hillside adds wonderfully to the composition and the distant hills are clearly seen beneath a glorious sky.
Good composition, lovely soft light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness throughout.

a beautiful landscape photography here. I like how you managed the light and maintain a very good depth to all over the field. Interesting composition with natural colours. Well done. Tfs.

Si tu vas voir ma photo du jour dans la galerie, tu vas constater la différence de température entre nos deux pays. Chez vous, c'est le printemps et c'est beau et vert. La campagne anglaise est de toute beauté.

A fantastic landscape shot. From your vantage point you show these beautiful rolling green fields till the point where the clouds seem to touch the land. Like the strands of sunlight splitting the green fields. Looks like the prefect setting for the Sherlock novel 'The Hound of Baskerville'. The place has a certain wild beauty. Well seen and expertly captured. Thanks for sharing.

lovely moorland shot this. Not easy to capture the openness and atmosphere of this special place, but this succeeds on so many levels. Beautiful!

I notice that you are the only member of TE who has taken pictures from Trawden and there is quite a lot of them. This is a very fine part of TE, you can see one particular place in many seasons and in a lot of different way. This photo shows once again that you are very lucky to live in such a beautiful area.

Superb perspective of these rolling fields, rolling hills and all full of greenery, beautiful moment with these shadows and lights illuminating the picture, the sky is perfect with these clouds as pictorial.
Very good brightness and sharpness, with beautiful colors.
Well seen and done better. I Like
Have a good day.

The walls between the fields tell us that this is not an an entirely "wild" area, but otherwise the signs of human presence are rather few and far between. It's fascinating to realize that several big cities are not very far away. This must be a terrific area for long walks, with maybe a chance of seeing some wild animals. The weather seems to have been very nice that day, providing you with good light and superb colours.

Great landscape view. The expanse is mind boggling. Colors are wonderful, there are so many of them, and in so many hues.

A wild exposed landscape Bev. It's easy to see why witches are associated with places like this. Even on a day like the one pictured here I can imagine the wind whipping across the moors and people hiding away indoors. A magical landscape with many soft, harmonious colours and a lovely bright blaze of sunlight in the mid-ground.
This is very much to my liking.... evocative work.
Warm regards Rosemary

I love moorland and was immediately drawn to this picture with the lovely brown and yellow colours. I especially enjoy the areas highlighted in the sunlight. The gentle curved landscape adds so much to the charm.
Kind Regards, Ann

Ciao e buon fine settimana

again...its becoming clearer and clearer with each photo as to why you choose to live in this area! And i know why you dont put in the 'map view' cause you dont want anybody to know your secret location! Haha
What can i honestly say?? Truly...its just one of those landscape scenes that put your heart at ease and relaxes the mind. Breath taking light along the hills, and the mood you captured is the type we'd all wish for in all our own shots...very sweet indeed.
enjoy yr weekend

Now this is pretty much exactly as I envision the English countryside, rolling lush green fields as far as the eye can see. I'm intently searching the landscape for packs of wild sheep though, you've piqued my curiosity...sounds like they may be zombie-like! :) Simplicity in one of its finest forms here, no need for anything of grand stature or historical significance to make this any more appealing to the senses.
The light is what makes this picture work so well, gently caressing open spaces here and there, helping to accentuate the dimension and depth. There's also a nice, subtle shift of colors throughout, making for an overall pleasing view all the way around. I get the exact opposite it would seem...the grass really is greener on the other side. :) Beautiful views you have surrounding your place, I'm envious. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Take good care.
Friendly wishes from cactus country,

Endless DOF, Beverly, with double meaning on this view.
Green fields seem beautifully from the high POV.
Pic. allocated 2/3 for the ground and 1/3 for the cloudy sky. Just by the book.
Enjoy a nice weekend,
Kielia (23287) 2014-03-19 8:31
you are presenting a fascinating view. The light here is lovely, not too sharp but illuminating the landscape in such a way that the forms are well presented. The sky has a gentle color which contrasts very nicely with the soft warmth of the fields. My compliments!
