Good Morning Everyone,
Rainbows are quite fascinating.
I saw this one from our bedroom window. The rainbow looks to be touching the hills!
A rainbow is an optical and meteorological phenomenon that is caused by both reflection and refraction of light in water droplets in the Earth's atmosphere, resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. It takes the form of a multicoloured arc.
Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the section of sky directly opposite the sun.
All rainbows are full circles, however, the average observer only sees approximately the upper half of the arc, the illuminated droplets above the horizon from the observer's line of sight. From Wikipedia.
I wish you all a colourful day, Bev :-)

We have had a lot of both down here recently, sun and rain that is. Though it continues mild for which I am very grateful. I like the point of view with the side of the house guiding the viewer toward the nicely depicted rainbow. Good light and colours and excellent clarity.

Bonjour, chère Bev,
Alors là, c'est quasiment un miracle cette composition.
La beauté d'ensemble est magnifiquement mise en image.
Félicitations à tous points de vue.

Lovely picture of the colourful bow. A nice diagonal presented by the house and the row of hedges leading our sight to the spectacle in the BG. The beauty of the rainbow has been magnified by the dark sky. Excellent clarity and vivid natural colours, thanks for sharing.

like this! So difficult to get rainbow shots that work as well as seeing them in the flesh so to speak. But this is wonderful and one that you have composed both imaginatively and effectively. The colours are dazzling too!
Raining here again! No rainbows either :-(

Un superbe phénomène, des plus photogénique.Le trésor ne doit pas être bien loin.Le cadrage vertical est superbe et donne de la profondeur à la composition. Les couleurs sont joliment saturées.

a shot that highlights the weather conditions and superb light. Moody and really beautiful, a fine image that captures the moment, I love the way the rainbow almost touches the roof. Thanks for sharing!

You must have a very beautiful and pleasant view from your windows. The rainbow is also perfectly captured, we can see all the colours, even the infra-red and the ultraviolet.

Interesting dominant point of view with a nice rainbow
Good perspective of the house on the right

Not a bad view from your bedroom window, and made all the more impressive by that rainbow. Did you chase the pot of gold in your dressing-gown?

Amazing rainbow, Beverly and must say you have a great scenery from your home over those fields.
I can imagine what you see over the window every morning and feel the air and smell of the green's.
Fabulous sight collected.
Good evening, and do not forget to open your bedroom window tomorrow and consume this beauty, yet again...

Rainbows are tempting objects for any photographer, but in order to become interesting in a picture they usually need to be accompanied by some other interesting features. You were lucky to have such features just looking through your bedroom window. Actually, this makes me think of paintings from the 16th century, or thereabout, but then usually a view from a gothic castle, looking across the walls towards the countryside (looking just slightly more dramatic than these gentle fields). It's a fine shot and a perfectly exposed rainbow.

Hello Beverley ,
I like a lot this kind of compsition , with a pacade in the FG , and an opening to the landscape in the bG . And this rural landscape is superb . The slated toof , too .
The rainbow is the final bonus .

in dicembre è successo anche a me di aprire la finestra e trovarmi davanti un bellissimo arcobaleno, si tratta, giustamente, di un effetto ottico, ma è veramente bello e soprattutto inaspettato.

What a wonderful picture!
You were lucky to have that lovely rainbow there, but also very talented to make such an attractive composition with so many details!
TFS - congrats,

The view alone from your window is enough to make anyone envious, but you throw in a rainbow like this and you've upped the ante! Not something that generally last too long, and I'm glad you were in the right place to capture this beauty...even if there really isn't a pot of gold at the end. :)
The way you've composed this makes me feel as if I'm actually there, looking out onto this lush countryside. Oh, how I miss the greens...not much afforded here in the desert as you might imagine!? I especially like that you included the small sign in the bottom right corner, the perfect subtle touch and aspect that shows your eye for detail. Lovely! Enjoy the day ahead.

the view is just beautiful. You got a nice frame with the magnificent rainbow at back and those houses at foreground which added depth to your image. Great details in the shadowed parts. Superbly presented shot. Tfs.

I missed this great capture !
Portrait format fits very well to your compo and of course the beautiful rainbow is the bonus of the scenery.
I don't know how long did it last but you are lucky to have had enough time to capture it.
TFS and best regards

I cannot complain about not seeing too many rainbows in the UK but rarely I am in a good place when it happens. You have very well used the spot you were in: I like the composition with the fragment of the building in the foreground and a lovely view opening just behind. There is so much sun and dark clouds at the same time which makes a perfect combination for a photographer.
